Been going on 7 months of no taste and smell.
Tried zinc, prednisone, vitamins, intranasal spray, etc.

Do you have nasal polyps? If so, dupixent is the answer you seek.

Can't you lose taste and smell by taking too much zinc?

giving it to our cat. He literally won't stop eating until he has had two full meals in a row.

Over 2 years for me, lost mine from the pneumonia vaccine.
Spoke to my Sleep (Apnea) Dr. about it and he gave me this...
NeilMed Sinus Rinse

Regained about 50% after 1st use (last Sept.) and I would say I am about 75% restored now. It will just take some time.

BTW: When the nerves come back, you may go through a few weeks where everything, with a strong aroma, (good or bad) will smell like an old, wet, burn barrel. God speed my friend.

My wife had a virus about four years ago. Head blasting headache, congestion and fever. Had to go to a 24 hour clinic. You get the picture. She mostly lost her sense of smell and to some degree taste. She has mildly improved but likely will never recover.
