150 isn’t high end, although it’s nice enough to live on but 200 would be better. For reference, I have a 2009 43’ Tiffin and I’d live on it if I had to but, I wouldn’t mind something a little nicer…

Regardless, you need to be good with a wrench if you don’t want to go broke/crazy having other people work on it. Money doesn’t necessarily solve all problems on these things…

No way it’s cheaper than a house. Very expensive to maintain…

But no property taxes probably makes up for it..

My kid and spouse did itas travel nurses. RV did have issues but was nice. (It was a large 5th wheel with a diesel truck sub $200k) The neighbors at the RV parks were sometimes odd and that bothered them. They had to stay 3 months at a time per contract so neighbors or weird RV park managers was sometimes an issue. For unrelated health reasons they had to stop and go back to a regular house. That could be an issue during retirement age also.

Yeah a truck and 5th wheel would be under 200k. I could 100% live in my Grand Design 5th wheel.

That's pretty much what my dad does. Except my parents still have 2 houses. Plus a couple of rental properties. And two RVs so one can stay at the camp. Boomers are so frickin loaded.

Possibly. After 20+ years maybe she wants to go sleep in the driveway.

I meet a lot of people who do this. Seems a great way to travel and pursue other hobbies and interests.

If you only want to move every 4-6 months, this is probably the best route but the down side is your only vehicle is a big arse truck. Likely a dually, and if that’s the case, save up for a 450 to get the better turning radius…

I don't think it'd be that bad. If you're in the middle of nowhere then driving a big truck is nothing. And if you're in a more populated area, just Uber.

Now what are they worth used a year old?

My plan, let all the boomers start slowing down, moving to retirement communities, and selling their RV's.
The surplus of used RV's should be huge in the next 5-10 years.

I’m talking a high end RV, $150K to $200K range

In the world of RV's, that's not high end....

A Class A Motor home starts around $150K and goes up to Multi-Millions.

You would be much better off buying a second hand RV...Florida is full of people who think they want to live the RV life and give it up after a year or two.

If lived in full time just about any RV from Forrest river to Prevost is going to have issues. Diesel pusher busses aren’t cheap starting in the $250k+ range now that said it would open up a huge amount of freedom. Could own several small plots of land with hook ups to use as bases or just stay at camp grounds for a few weeks at a time.

This sounds like a fun idea that would get really tiresome after a few months.

So you want to live in a mobile home in addition to being a hoarder? Trashy

I kid, I kid — I actually enjoy your garage / estate sale post.

Grand Design 5th wheel.
that sounded familiar so I googled and that is exactly the type theirs looked like. We stayed the weekend with them once (it had two bedrooms) and it was fine but my parents have always had travel trailers. That was a step up.

She said we would just move every 4-6 months, and travel the country
we plan to do that but plan to keep our house (we would find a caretaker couple or something) and just do 2-4 month rentals
