I hate bringing too personal shite on here and try to avoid it at most costs. But it feels bad, man. Feels real bad.

When I was a kid that's how football was. No longer.

It's just a football game. There will be time with your son elsewhere.

I actually feel you on this. Toughest day I’ve had so far since it happened. I can’t even enjoy it.

Why don’t you call the ex and get the boy? I can’t imagine my ex ever saying no to a request like that.

Thanks for understanding. I can’t muster up any give-a-shite myself. Oh well.

Next time type it all out, read it, and close out the window without posting. You can do better.

Not divorced and son is right here...we’re working together on his LEGO car thingy, not glorifying a bunch of spoiled brat men fighting over a pork byproduct.

So just saying, frick this game, make your own time.

Son of divorced parents. You'll always be his dad unless you are a shite head. Don't be that and nobody will ever take your place.

God damnit. I hate when people say this. It’s not just about the actual game. It’s about bonding and tradition. It’s about everything but the game itself. It’s family gathering. It’s symbolic. The game being played is just lagniappe.

Posts like this give me reassurance I’m doing the right thing.

I know I like to bond while watching rich athletes telling us how oppressed this country makes them and disrespect the flag and those that served.

Well it is just a game. I don’t recall ever watching a Superbowl with my father and we were bonded quite nicely. Now he and I sitting at Giamanco’s oyster bar eating raw oysters and drinking ice cold Jax beer and him picking up the tab were bonding traditions that we can’t do anymore except in my minds eye.

Take him to eat some oysters this week Carl and buy him a beer. You’ll do fine and so will he.
