I have a Dane that is 1/4 Dutch Shepherd, which in his case has resulted in shepherd energy and brains in to an overly muscular Dane body.

A month ago, he chased down a herd of antelope and ran beside them for a mile or so until they got to a fence and split. He was so confused as to why his new friends left him.

So far in my life 2 German shepherds 1 Rhodesian ridgeback, and imo the best is the Rhodesian extremely loyal to the point he gets very anxious when I’m gone would not trade him for any dog in the world. He is gunna be 8 years old in a few days I’m starting to get worried that he will get cancer or some shite soon and im absolutely not ready at all

Rottweiler. Incredibly smart and well behaved. Command vocabulary is strong. Knows the difference between ball, rope, and treat and will fetch each one according to verbal command. I will tell him to go upstairs and get whichever specific toy I want to play with and he damn well does it. Responds accordingly to move, stay, down etc. Has never chewed or soiled one item in the house beyond one incident at 5 months old when he gnawed on a chair leg a little bit (just a few scratches). Very sweet disposition as well. The one bad habit I have not been able to break him of is licking people to greet them-but he will stop once I raise my voice. Jackpot dog.

I’ve had a couple American Eskimos(spitz). They used to use this breed in circuses. They learn tricks very fast and are quite acrobatic.

Have a male Shelty. He's fast. Can herd anything.

He's a mind reader. He knows when we're gonna go to the barn, when we're gonna play fetch, when I'm gonna get the tractor out or the truck or ride the ATV down to the pond. He always leads the way.

Kinda. A darker brindle with short legs. Sometimes when she looks at me she folds her ears back and she looks like an idiot.

My dog is smart but emotional. She knows commands and if calm will do them politely. If something’s happening, she will absolutely not listen which is annoying.

She also knows I am an idiot and rolls her eyes at me all the fricking time. All the time. Like damn girl. Don’t be so judgmental. As she lies so close to me I can’t move lol

We’ve had several Eskies over the years, but I wouldn’t describe any of them as smart or clever. When our first one would get out, we could get him to return home by rattling his leash….he would come running back because he thought we were going to take him for a walk ;)

Old English sheep dog.

Knows what time of day it is. Anticipates things and makes decisions.

Awesome sense of humor. Loves to tease other dogs. He'll get them all worked up without barking or growling, then just walks away chuckling to himself. I can see it in his face.

Never had any formal training, but I can control him with a single word or even just the wave of a hand.

Doesn't particularly care for children but is very protective of elderly people.

I have a border collie who mostly uses his smarts to manipulate me into doing what he wants.

Same and to add ours is the most clingy, extra AF pet I have ever seen. He stays with me every minute of the time at home. If I get up, he gets up. If the cat tries to sneak outside he heards him back in. Our Virginia fox hound can open the door if we forget to lock it when we leave so about a month ago both got out. I posted his picture on social media and the next morning a guy called and said he was a few streets over hearding a group of little kids up to the bus stop lol.

Had a poodle-bichon mix that was an effing genius. Our English bulldog is sweet as hell but a total dunce by comparison.

Same but 3 years old. Only thing she wants to do is play fetch in the backyard. She's taken that as her "job".

She also stares at me CONSTANTLY waiting on me to give her a command. Incredibly smart dog.

Grew up with labs, now have a standard poodle. She looks identical to the one in your backseat photo.

I will never get another dog breed again. They are the best.

I have a Brittany spaniel that honestly even as a puppy just “got it”. Never need a leash. Listens to every word you say. Very loyal. Her instincts are off the charts.

We have a 2 yr old French Bulldog. Her favorite thing to do is to orient herself on the couch so she can watch tv. She will not face any other direction than the tv. She will watch anything. Sports, movies, the news, etc. Remembers certain commercials. We cannot make it through any cartoons or animated movies because of her running up to the tv and barking her head off.

Owned 3 Boston Terriers prior to the Frenchie.
