With very few exceptions, skip your family doctor for this and go to a doctor who specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (bHRT). A GOOD one won't just categorically put you on TRT and will treat you after evaluating a full blood panel along with your eating/exercise/lifestyle habits. There are a number of options before going diving directly into TRT and a professional who's experience in this field can help with an incremental approach into the process.
My family doctor took only one measure of testosterone and declared "you're within spec so normal, deal with it". I showed the same labs to another general practice doc who also practices bHRT and he said "normal, but far lower end of what is a wide range of normal". He checked thyroid, iron, lipids, and other factors after determine my exercise and diet were good. We tried two or three options before settling on a course of treatment that works well for me.

Are you taking doctor prescribed testosterone or steroids?

No. OT ballers sell their blood to Nugenix so they can make T boosters.

I think it takes a lot of guts, and a very mature emotional makeup, to disucss personal issues such as this with strangers. Men die every day, and suffer from untreated medical issues by the millions, because they are ashamed to speak out. Mostly because they're afraid of getting thoughtless, immature, and unhelpful comments from idiots.
If you can't offer encouragement or constructive advice, keep your mouth shut.
sounds like you've been getting estrogen therapy.

and your stats are way wrong:
Birth Rate
Death Rate
• 19 births/1,000 population • 8 deaths/1,000 population
• 131.4 million births per year • 55.3 million people die each year
• 360,000 births per day • 151,600 people die each day
• 15,000 births each hour • 6,316 people die each hour

Bad advice.
Start w your primary MD. If concerned or doubtful, then seek out an endocrinologist.
Most testosterone “specialists” are ER docs, anesthesiologists, etc. not practicing in their field of study. They don’t practice standard of care, and therefore, insurance won’t pay for their visits or meds.

You do not have to do any of these. You can just use the damn machines. The only thing required is getting your arse to the gym and working out several days a week.

Get your thyroid checked too. That's something so easy to fix but can cause everything and more you mentioned if not treated.

I’m 67 and get the less than desirable stiffy about half the time. Testosterone is average but not therapy started for me. The doc did ask me if I wanted it for energy, etc. What has helped is 4 days in the gym, Strength training and daily 2 mile quick walks in the neighborhood with our husky/Shepard mix. I started using a pre workout and that carries me through the time in the gym. I started the exercise routine last May and haven’t given up. I dropped from a peak of 235 to 215 and now sit at a much firmer 220. I’m 6’1.5”.
Overall, I have much more energy due to a semi structured physical regimen. Try it, force yourself to start, and you will notice a difference. Give us an update if you do start.

If I were referring to the "low-T centers" that pop up in strip malls I might agree with you.

quote:The "cliche advice" works. Just nobody ever takes the advice, and they'd rather just get a shot or pop some pills. It's easier. But as you found out, the easy way isn't always all sunshine and rainbows.
You are a guy just throwing out cliche advice
quote:Nope, I have experience with this in my family, including the ultimate and final "solution", if you know what I mean. Depression is real, and some people need help.
You’re like the people who tell someone suffering from clinical depression to “just suck it up.”
quote:I know what's going on. Everybody wants the easy solution. I'm guilty of it in many aspects of my life. But the easy solution always has a price.
You’d be better served to just keep your advice to yourself, because you obviously don’t know wtf is going on.
I am not anti-medication, or anti-health professional, or anti-anything, really. I am just pro- making positive, long-lasting changes. Therapists do good work, and they help a lot of people. But they help people to help themselves. They give people the tools they didn't know they needed to make those positive changes.
And EVERY doctor, surgeons, therapists, and everything in between, will recommend to their patients to watch their diet and exercise! Some people need to hear it a thousand times, but for those who eventually take that advice, their health improves dramatically. Everything positive in your life has to start inside your own head. Maybe OP just needs to hear that one more time.

no need for viagra, just get a bottle of L-arginine 1000g and take one every day, its an all natural testosterone booster.
it takes a day or two to start noticing but a side effect is you will be slightly more irritable and frustrated as your testosterone levels rise and erections will be firmer and last longer

Get your thyroid checked too. It's a very easy fix. An irregular thyroid can have the same symptoms and more of what you're experiencing.

I'm in my 40s and recently had my T levels checked for the 1st time during an annual physical. The doc (GP) initially asked if I had any reason to have them checked and I said only because it would be good to review annually like I do with cholesterol, BP, and the other routine stuff.
The results came back that I was very low, even out of the very wide range that is considered 'normal' for my age. I regularly work out, have lots of energy, and no issues with sex drive. Therefore, haven't done anything about it.
I did read an article or two that claimed results can vary significantly, something about the inherent imprecise nature of how blood samples are tested.
It's also made me wonder if I've always had low levels. I've never had mood swings or felt a need to 'prove my manliness' like many of the friends I've had over the years.

I was in the same situation 2 years ago. Went in for a physical did blood work, etc. I found out my T was low in addition to several other things. In my experience, it was not just one thing, but a combination of several.
The T helped a ton, but so did getting off my arse and changing my diet. 2 years later, I’m down over 50 lbs and feel great. I’m doing blood work 2x per year and working with my doc. Get a Fitbit and set daily goals for 5-10k steps. Workout and eat better.
Testosterone replacement is not a silver bullet, it’s a piece. And, it was the kick start to get everything heading back in the right direction for me.

Yet somehow generation after generation have gone through this and only recently we think we need to get hormone injections to give us a little pep in our step. Meh, I think I'll just let mother nature do what she does. Unless I start growing tits its gonna be a hard no for me.
The difference is most of us are caged in a cube for 8-10 hours a day, as opposed to pretty much anything before computers went mainstream. It's also why people are taking more anti-depression and anti-anxiety pills. You have to counteract it with something.
