Any Interesting ambien stories? Seeing stuff in your periphery?

I don't really have a sleeping problem, but one night thought I'd take one of my Dad's to get a great night sleep.

Saw what appeared to be Satan, holding a baby.

Needless to say I never took one again.

Friend of mine ordered $400 worth of stuff from Amazon and didnt know till it got delivered.

Thats all I got.

My wife used to take it. It made her a midnight snacker. I'd get up in the morning and there'd be potato chip bags on the counter, open ice cream cartons with the spoon still in it in the fridge, etc. She got embarrassed enough to stop and now just takes CBD or THC for sleep.

I took an ambien once. Woke up the next morning to go piss and was so dizzy I fell in the hallway and gave myself a black eye.

That stuff is nasty.

They gave my Dad Ambien when he was in ICU with a rectal bleed that required 20+ units blood/plasma over 3 days. They gave him 1 dose of Ambien the 1st night then immediately switched.

Dad somehow thought it was his duty to get up and clean his area of the ICU. Imagine an 80 year old with tubes, wires, all kinds of stuff hooked up, while in critical life threatening condition (still bleeding at that point), trying to get out of bed and go about wiping surfaces, asking for a broom and mop,...

Are you also on an SSRI? Ambien is known to have wild side effects when taken in combination with SSRI's.

I consider Ambien a wonder drug. Helps me sleep and no drowsy feeling he next day. That said, I only take it when ready for bed. I took it once, sat in the easy chair to watch TV, and woke up at 5 am the next morning in the chair. I sleep-walked in a Vegas hotel room while on Ambien. Scary to think what could have been, i.e. walking on the casino floor in my boxers. Pre-CPAP days on Ambien, I would literally stumble into walls in the night trying to find the bathroom. Scary to think I might have tumbled down the stairs.

Weird drug.

I was prescribed Ambien for a little in college, one morning I woke up and I had completely rearranged the clothes in my dresser. If you didnt try to fall asleep after you took it you would definitely see things after about an hour, they kind of looked like ghosts to me but it wasnt a scary feeling. I do recall one time I thought my crush had showed up to my room to frick and I woke up the next morning convinced it was real. My roommates had to set me straight that no she did not come over.

I stopped taking it a few months after this incident, I didnt like all that other shite that was happening because of it.

That shite should be taken of the market. Long list of tragedies attached to that garbage but hey, Big Pharm is making a killing off of it so the Gov't looks the other way.

I attended a seminar recently from a 'brain scientist' that discussed the aging brain and Dementia/Alzheimer's. Getting good sleep was the biggest factor in preventing issues later in life. Good sleep allows the brain to 'self-clean' all of the waste that it produces on a daily basis.

It was also mentioned that long term use of sleep aides (such as Ambien) prevent the brain from self-cleaning and can greatly increase the risk of Dementia/Alzheimer's.
