Agreed. I saved money by joining my fraternity. The dues, house rent, and meal plan were cheaper than a dorm and lsu meal plan. So I saved money buying my friends that I didn't pay enough for.

Sigma Chi has a cross burning problem, but not meant as a racist gesture. Supposedly predates the klan's use of cross burning.

Our initiation doesn't make any sense and was honestly disappointing except for the fact we weren't getting hazed anymore and could finally go to sleep

Knew a dude who was a PiKE at Tech and went active flunked out went to LSU in his third year and pledged Deke, everyone called him a Dike.
I knew more than a few from different Fraternities and liked most just seemed like the Dekes tried too hard earning their notoriety and seemed rehearsed and disingenuous. But harmless enough.

No you didnt. We would never allow someone to pledge that already was in another fraternity... its literally one of the rules

The KD's used have something called Rainbow Wedding, where chicks who didn't have dates for their formal would have a big ceremony and drunk reception. Two seniors would get "married" for the weekend. I am not making this up. Don't know if they still do this, but it was a thing from the sixties at least up through the eighties.

Uh yes I did and do and it's true.
He pledged Pike at Tech in '86 went active in Spring of '87 went deke in '89 or '90 I believe in the Fall with some other guy from same high school who had pledged with him at Tech but dropped for some gheyness.. Both went active deke both alumnus he's a dike go frick yourself. I don't lie.
