Done poorly? Yes.
A properly done resto mod Ford Bronco with a removable top? Sign me up.

I have always wanted to mount remote controlled, auto-targeting twin .50-cals on my vehicle to deal with the idiot drivers in Atlanta if that counts as wanting to heavily mod a vehicle.

How did that work out? Handling
That used to be an old trick from the late 80's and 90's. Allows for the removal of the shock towers, which really frees up the engine bay and yes, it gives better handling. There are much better systems for those late 60's Ford products today though. I do not keep up with those things like I used to, but I "know a guy" that still does and we talk sometimes.

Not sure I'd trust my wife in a 680hp vehicle.

That's amazing actually. That you don't understand that. Because it's a very simple concept. You on SSI?
Explain then.

I built a 67 Fastback with a 351W, AOD, cut coils in front, reverse eye springs in back. She was my freeway flyer.
Stupid me sold it.
Now I have a 70 Mach 1 that I'm doing similar. Problem is I'm a lot older and shite's expensive!

Same. These days I have no interest. I just want a vehicle that gets me from point A to point B.
Same here. I now enjoy driving a reliable gbody with decent straightline, handling a braking. No muss, no fuss daily driving.

I used to have a Subaru WRX STI that I did a lot of performance mods to. Front mount intercooler, upgraded fuel system rails to run E85 with a Flex Fuel kit, EBCS, Blouch Turbo upgrade, dyno tune. Some other things here and there that I can't recall.
Blew the engine on a track day and had it all rebuilt with an IAG closed deck block. Was very reliable after that and ran really strong through dozens of track days.
Ended up selling it when I moved out of PA and didn't need 4wd any more and had a family so track days weren't really much of a thing anymore either.

I want to lower my Canyon about 4 inches and put a built LS motor in it
Bought a 5.3 Colorado crew cab new off the lot in 2009, drove it about 3 months, then bagged and bodydropped it on bonspeed 22s, put a mild TSP cam in it, and drove it daily just like that for over 170k miles in 7 years. Should've never sold it. The lowered/bagged truck scene in BR/Gonzales/AP was awesome in the early 2000s until around a decade ago, you could find local meetups several times a week.
I DD a 2017 JKU on 40s now. 4.5" Metalcloak gamechanger on STT pros. Also regularly drive our Transit HR/EL 350HD lifted on 32s that certainly gets a bit of attention wherever we bring it just due to the enormous size of that beast

Have had my Tahoe since 2011. What are these problems you speak of?

It's a subtle thing and it's probably a fine line between tasteful and trashy.
I don't know how high a truck has to be lifted before it's trashy..but I know it when I see it.
I don't know how far outside the wheel wells the wheels have to stick, but I know it when I see it.
Having said that, there are plenty of nice trucks running around with slightly larger than stock tires and modest lift/leveling kits that look proper.
I just wonder what kind of insecurity some of these guys (who have "wides") have. Like: grown men drive these things?

everything except the steering wheel. I can't believe I got 20 downvotes over it. This must be a homo thread
