Exercise.
Therapy.
Then drugs.

Nothing new under the sun. They need to seek medical help.

The response to covid fricked an entire generation up in this country. shite like this will only get worse.

But hey, teachers got to work from home, nurses got to dance, and you got to watch your elderly relatives die via zoom!

Growing up in the pandemic had adverse mental health effects on a lot of kids.

there is several different triggers to anxiety issues that are real and can extend for years. One that I am aware of is the use of the patch, antiseasickess treatment. Its an hallucinogenic .

fricking anxiety and overwhelmed. When my two girls, 26 and 24 started that shite around 20, I lost my shite! I was pretty strict on them growing up. I told them to basically grow up and quit crying about adulting.

arse-lick, Alabama isn’t one of the nicer towns in Alabama but it is a lot better than living in Beaumont, Texas.

Sounds like enabling parents are crippling your cousin’s daughters, not anxiety.

60mg of Prozac

Do it! (For the parents who have created this).

Wow.. these young adults needs to just stay at home

They can’t go anywhere without calling mommy to come get them

That’s gotta be exhausting for the parents

I was thinking lockdown. It has screwed up a lot of young people. Adults, too. That said, they’d find a way to get home and learn to address their issues. No coddling or living at home.

My anxiety started at 30. It can be absolutely crippling. Planes are bad. But two of the worst episodes were driving. Just me and young (at the time) son. Terrified I’d pass out and kill us both. A 10 minute drive may as well have been 3 hours. A 7 hour drive feeling like that will have you considering pulling over and just moving to arse-lick Alabama.

I remember having anxiety and worrying about things since I was a little kid. It’s my personality and in my nature. I can’t control that, but I can control my reactions. The absolute best thing is exposing myself to those situations I fear the most. It’s the most uncomfortable, but overcoming your fears is what true courage is. I’ve always been scared of heights my entire life. I fly, I go on glass elevators, drive over high bridges, etc. even though it’s really uncomfortable for me. This goes for everything I have fear of. Exposure therapy(sometimes in small doses) is the key. My dad taught me this. In time you can face your fears even if you are uncomfortable.

Anxiety can be absolutely debilitating. I feel sorry for people who get it.

That said, if your cousin's daughters want to continue traveling, they need to be able to take care of themselves. If you really cannot function in society, you will find yourself sitting in your parent’s living room missing out on a lot of things life has to offer.

Social media overload coupled with coddling has fried their young brains. About half our young adults are on anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD meds or use THC products daily. Truly sad.

There is no way around it. Most things in life when you learn something new or do something different requires stepping into the unknown. There are tons of strategies and therapies to help people do this. It comes down to a choice and motivation. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

The anxiety in 18 to 35 yr old women is beyond crazy. It is from coddling and being spoiled. Parents these days are ridiculous.

The parents are likely enabling it. Even possibly without realizing it.

No doubt. It’s hurting the kids too because whenever life is difficult or they think it’s gonna be difficult they’re calling mom to come get them and they literally can’t even

Gotta grow up at some point . Or not I guess and stay in the parents basement

The 24yr old flew from Louisville to Dallas this past Thursday with a connection to LAX for a pharmacy school function. She got to Dallas and couldn't make herself get on the 2nd flight. This was her 2nd flight, first alone. She and my cousin concocted a plan for her to rent a car and drive from Dallas to my house in B'ham, AL, my cousin would drive down from KY to take her to the Louisville airport to get her daughters car, then drive back to Harlan KY.

Weird that she couldn't get on the plane but was OK with driving a car alone from Dallas to Birmingham. That would be way more nerve wracking to me, and I love driving. I-20 totally sucks.

Was it the plane flight or attending the school function that she was more anxious about?

I used that once when I went on a deep sea fishing trip out of Alaska. It didn't work. Once we hit open ocean, I started puking.
