I haven't found anything that states it is antifa that has been occupying the house. I did read about the family that owned it for 60 years and who was screwed over by their mortgage lenders. The loan was sold to another lender which is common but the first lender kept demanding payment. The family went to court as their only recourse in determining who to pay and while that case was moving through the system, another lender bought the loan and initiated non judicial foreclosure even though the mortgage was part of a court case. The family was still fighting this mess when the sheriff showed up and evicted them, during the eviction moratorium that was in place. That's when community activist started staying in the house to prevent the developer who bought it from taking possession.

I wiould also think that many of them are people who were born and raised in Portland, love their city, and are trying to get it back. But what's scary watching that video is that it feels like it's close to the rioters tossing pipe bombs and molotov cocktails, and police deaths.
