From your pediatrics paper:
quote:
At the beginning of the 20th century, the leading causes of child mortality were infectious diseases, including diarrheal diseases, diphtheria, measles, pneumonia and influenza, scarlet fever, tuberculosis, typhoid and paratyphoid fevers, and whooping cough. Between 1900 and 1998, the percentage of child deaths attributable to infectious diseases declined from 61.6% to 2%.
What do you think lead to that decline? Look at the causes, and cross reference it with what vaccines are used.
I just can't. I seriously think people like you have a screw loose. You belong in the nut house.
See what I did there?
Oh, from the CDC...on measles
quote:
In the decade before 1963 when a vaccine became available, nearly all children got measles by the time they were 15 years of age. It is estimated 3 to 4 million people in the United States were infected each year. Also each year, among reported cases, an estimated 400 to 500 people died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 1,000 suffered encephalitis (swelling of the brain) from measles.
quote:
Measles was declared eliminated (absence of continuous disease transmission for greater than 12 months) from the United States in 2000. This was thanks to a highly effective vaccination program in the United States, as well as better measles control in the Americas region.
I need to document your username to make sure I never waste time beyond this thread arguing anything with you, as you are legitimately a moron. I'm serious.

SIDS is tied to younger moms.
There's also environmental concerns.
I had a cousin lose a kid to carbon monoxide, labeled as sids at first. No one else in their family had symptoms from exposure. But sure enough testing the one room where she slept and there ya go.
As for vaccines, could have been an adverse reaction. It's not unheard of. However autism is not linked with vaccines.

What they all say. "SIDS"
Was a second opinion obtained or was a vaccine claim filed with the gov't?

I’m glad a vaccine came around to knock out measles, mumps, and chicken pox, but as time has gone on people have really overstated how bad these diseases actually were.
They were not the f’ing plague. Hell there was a Brady Bunch episode on the measles and parents intentionally used to expose their kids to chicken pox so they could get it over with.
If folks were really worried about outbreaks then they should be much more concerned about who we are letting into our country.

Folks, with Bucknut I am amazed at the display of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. It goes to show why you should never argue with an idiot once they've revealed themselves to be as such.
quote:
In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is. The cognitive bias of illusory superiority comes from the inability of low-ability people to recognize their lack of ability. Without the self-awareness of metacognition, low-ability people cannot objectively evaluate their competence or incompetence.[

Are those diseases pleasant? No. Are people with depressed immune systems at higher risk for death? Yes. Are vaccines expensive? No. Is the benefit of vaccines and the reduced suffering many hundreds and thousands of times better than alternative? Without question.

That dumb count, Jenny Mccarthy with the help of a quack got this shite started and growing.
I remember when she said her son was cured of autism, LOL
She used her celebrity pull to further this asinine agenda.

1) People are
2) It's not just about life vs death, life gets put on hold for dealing with those diseases.

Are vaccines totally safe with zero side effects? No. There are some nasty side effects (not autism) that are extremely rare but are associated with some of the vaccines. There are also some pain in the arse side effects like general sickness that are common.
As other poster stated, you had as good of a chance to be killed by lightening then be killed by chicken pox even though everyone got chicken pox. If someone is worried about the side effects or how it’s made then it’s hard to argue with them on how crucial it is to get the shot.
Hell the biggest driver for chicken pox vaccine was to eliminate the need for parents to take off of work to deal with sick kids.
ETA: I’m glad the vaccine came around so I or my kid doesn’t have to deal with it but I understand why people have heartburn or strong feelings.

I always think of a joke when I read anti-vaxxer articles:
Why was the anti-vaxxer’s 4 year old kid crying?
Mid-life crisis
