We have a conscience because God exists. End of discussion.
Evolution doesn't develop morality. If Darwinian theory be true, we're no more special than fish or kangaroos, and our moral structure is a hindrance to the strong not an advantage.

Yes i do, they will eat their own and each other’s poo to cover their tracks. Or use it as marks of teritorry. But I edited my first post to be more representative of my perspective. I think that similar concept applies to humans, just more slightly more complex in our own perspective .
Sentient? Maybe, maybe not.
Poors in every major city marking their territory with spray paint and the blood of anyone not of their wolf pack.
Sentient? Maybe, probably not.

of course it does
our morality has evolved within our own lifetimes

our moral structure is that we realized we are stronger as a community than individuals

Do you have any physical evidence of this theory?

Evolution doesn't develop morality.

quote:What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are you alluding to the idea that "the strong" are supposed to survive and reproduce? It's the most fit, not the strongest, who survive and reproduce. As it turns out, a civilized society based on morals works quite well for humans.
our moral structure is a hindrance to the strong not an advantage.

It isn’t the only thing that sets humans apart from other animals, but I’d think some form of morality would be beneficial as humans began to coexist in larger and larger groups, ensuring coexistence and furthering the species, allowing humans to thrive.
Just because a form of morality exists, obviously we’re not bound by it, as much of it would appear to be a construct.

Google Jeff Durbin. He argues from the same premises as Cornelius Van Til. To dismiss it would be to hinder your growth as a well rounded human.

Apart from him, there is no law, no order, no universal truths. No basis for anything at all.
Any time you act according to order, law, rationality, or truth you are borrowing from a worldview, which you reject (assuming you're not Christian).
Isn't that cool?! :jump1: :jump2:
