I think it takes a very sophisticated brain. Or computer chip perhaps. Complicated enough that scientists, philosophers and theologians and myself can’t fully understand how the modern human brain works.

What if computers learn how to bend elements, wavelengths, etc. in ways we can't yet understand? I think the next great leap in knowledge will come when we let true AI discover new possibilities but we also risk selling ourselves to it.

We will be sold out as organisms far before then, but it is an awesome concept to think that we aren't sophisticated enough to understand what is happening around us.

I’m not certain without looking it up. But I’d guess we’re more closet related to some more than others. Some we directly evolved from, others branched off and died out. Some that died out, Neanderthal for a very recent example, mingled their genes with ours. I believe this is provable with Mitochondrial DNA up to about 250,000 years ago, which is still relatively recent.

I think consciousness is the much more important and interesting concept. I understand it to mean the self-awareness of one’s individual existence. Is this the concept in which you are referring?

Biologists claim plants actually scream in times of drought and such but its ultrasonic. Just imagine if we could decipher all frequencies as good as visible light.

Replace? I don’t know. I think they can attain a certain consciousness, Artificial Intelligence.
On a side note, according to simulation theories, our consciousness is already derived from a computer simulation.
