See I don't think that matters.
These kids still wind up being an afterthought, and I would bet that fame and recognition are very low on their list of reasons for taking a life.
Most of these victims seem random but I bet a few of these shooters have had triggering situations with their victims.

I don't think Charles Whitman or the Columbine shooters were looking to be famous. It is a weak argument but the media does sensationalize these people.

Put armed Veterans in schools
Why no school shootings in Israel???? Teachers are armed and of course they are Veterans as everyone in Israel is part of their Military
Make all Male Students join the Military, they choose the branch for two years after High School Graduation. The Government will then pay for two years of College.

Once again, how is going to be paid for? Don't say cut defense spending only. When will people be diagnosed? Will people be missed or misdiagnosed? A one size fits all solution is not viable. We need specifics. I don't know what the best course of action is when it comes to that.

There is no solution. If somebody wants to commit one of these terrible acts of violence, they can. There will always be a weapon...there will always be “soft” targets. Not much we can do to stop it, unless you want to live in a permanent state of martial law.

Exactly my point. Bad people are going to do bad things, some could be stopped but most will not. Mental health issues have been and will always be an issue.

It's just plain old copycat now, and the gun control nuts are loving it. Since the Florida shooting, schools are expelling students left and right for making threats. These kids are just dumb and desensitized.

Agreed, it's actually the worst thing to do. Living by feelings won't cut it and the lack of a moral compass.

So if the resource officer used a gun to stop the shooter, does that count as 2 school shootings in one day as far as CNN statistics are concerned?

Granted, after his death, I believe it was revealed he had a brain tumor.
These events really aren't a new occurrence. Our short memories and the current world in which we live makes it seem so. I think there was even a guy back in the early 1900s or so that blew up a school in Wisconsin or Michigan or something.
They are also classifying anything involving a gun at a school as a "school shooting." There is quite a bit a difference between someone trying to get at one person and a mass shooting.
