NOLA

Seems like the number of restaurants from I-10 to Jackson Ave on St Charles Ave has plummeted. Seems like there will be nothing left but Popeyes, Raising Canes, Burger King, Mr John’s, Taco place, and Houston’s now.

The lack of tourists continues to take its toll as crime scares people off.

Who didn’t see this coming with strict covid mandates and increase in crime?

That’s some bill shite. Walked down magazine this weekend and it’s a ghost town. Talked to a tourist from Dallas and he said he can’t wait to leave because New Orleans is disgusting.

No tourists were going to Slice. They once had another location and it closed years ago. Just not very good, but that area is getting much worse.

Damn, didn't realize Voodoo BBQ and Blind Pelican were closed too. Neither were very good, but they were always busy, especially on weekends.

Mr John's and Houston's are the two best places in that stretch and they both do big and mostly local business.

That's what happens when you start selling Sunkist instead of staying true to your name.

Name them. And I know restaurants that opened in spots that closed during the pandemic, so you aren’t actually adding to it.

COVID regs killed the St. Charles Tavern, Trolley Stop Cafe and Voodoo BBQ as they all closed during that time. I have noticed an increase in pizza places in that area, so I it may be a combo issue for Slice.

The Starbucks on Canal is closing though and they specifically said it's due to employees feeling threatened in the area with the crime. Canal St. has been going downhill for years unfortunately.

Magazine St has had a bunch of new restaurants open up. That new boba place close to Jackson Ave has been printing money since it opened last week. Uptown west of Jackson Ave is still booming but the rest of the city has taken a nosedive.

100s of restaurants are opening up all over New Orleans?!

That is crazy!

Must be a world record for the most restaurants to open up in one city at a time!
