No you don’t! You get arrested for far more serious charges and lazy DAs plea your serious charges down to bullshite like possession.
In most cities you don’t even get a summons for “smoking a plant”.
And quit acting like smoking dope in a boat is less dangerous than drinking. Either way your operating impaired.

My party barge goes about 5 mph while we cruising on lake

Hard to crash no matter how many beers I drink

I hate to say it but the only way this will stop is if the people riding in the vehicles have some responsibility too. It shouldn't be just the driver is in trouble or to blame.

If you ride with a drunk driver then I have very little sympathy for you if you get hurt/killed.

No issues with troopers. Just cool to see people practicing boater safety without enforcement.

i used to go to False River and loved drinking and riding around at night.....But i am more responsible than most and we never got above idle, because it was about cruising. And we knew of the retards who are irresponsible.

seems to be the drunk passengers are the problem, not the drunk driver.

It is not just a Louisiana things. Texas lakes see people dying every week and most are tied back to alcohol usage.

Dumb people gonna do dumb things. Sadly they like to mix engines with intoxication too often.

A 7:15AM fishing beer is one of the better beers. Right up there with a 5pm garage beer

The problem is very apparent by number of people in threads like this that try to rationalize their drinking while boating.

We always drink and boat ride in pecan island. Than again we aren’t irresponsible soy boys.

I feel like the drunk driving threads don't get this many people defending. People generally shite all over drunk drivers in those.

The drinking culture in this state is very problematic. And I think it’s gotten much worse.
