Boats are dangerous enough, leave the liquor out of it drivers.

It’s every weekend. It’s ridiculous how many people have to drink while they are driving a boat.

This shite is ridiculous man. How hard is it to not drink, and drive a boat or vehicle? Do people think one of the requirements for starting up a boat down here is by being fricked arse up?

It's sad, yet you can be arrested for smoking a plant but roll into Bubba's drive through and load up on a dangerous drug and go kill people.

Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs out there.

Almost same situation as the girl riding in front of the gate on the pontoon and fell over the front. This guy was riding the bow and fell over the front and got hit by the prop. Both situations the boat operator was drunk. If in the right state of mind, the operators in both situations could have realized the danger the passengers were putting themselves in.

Record boat sales the last two years = record new boaters that are clueless to safe boat operation.

Anyone dumb enough to be driving a boat with passengers riding on the bow has no business behind the wheel

I'm not advocating drinking and driving by any means, but I am going to take a guess and say you don't get a lot of invitations from friends to go boat riding.

You would think that the liability alone would be enough to get people who are piloting boats with others on board to be extremely apprehensive to drinking, and also in keeping passengers on board to both drink and act responsibly as well. Far too much can go wrong on a boat, and it happens quickly too.

I have yet to see anyone in a boat with alcohol here in Alaska. I’ve also yet to see anyone without a life jacket. That’s really impressive to me considering I have not seen a trooper on the water here either.

Come to Southeast. Its a way of life.

You get to know most of the troopers though. One of them had a brother pitch in MLB, missing one hand. (Chad Bentz)

Bentz grew up in Juneau, and he made history on April 7, 2004, by becoming the second pitcher, after Jim Abbott, to play in the Major Leagues after being born without one of his hands

Troopers are usually pretty decent, warn you before putting the boot on your neck.
