The narrative that murderous cops go unpunished, dumbass
One cop goes to jail, and not even for murder. I guess it’s all settled then, we don’t have an epidemic of cops escaping justice.

If the cop was in fact just carrying out “bad training” why was he fired from the police force that trained him?
Did the police force have is weapon engraved with “You’re fricked” on it?
If you’re asking me to guess, you seemed to have posted a good reason. From what I’ve read, he was fired for “performance issues” AND because he etched “You’re fricked” on a dust cover of an agency issued rifle (destruction of government property). Perhaps if not for killing an unarmed man he would still be employed, but I still think he deserved to be fired for all those reasons.

Another thing if it was really a training issue.
Why did only one cop shoot?
There was at least 4 other cops with weapons drawn. I believe I read there were a total of 6. But I counted 4 from the video itself.
Why weren’t the other police officers trained as poorly?
That happens. Even in your job, ask yourself how many times people fail to do as they are trained when they doubt that it’s the right thing to do. But you know there are also people who think too literally and will gladly do the wrong thing knowing damn well it was a bad choice. Not everyone acts honorably.
Since I started posting on this this thread, I’ve now read that the former cop’s defense was literally what I’ve been speculating - that he was doing what he was trained to do. As it turned out, the prosecution failed to prove the former officer acted contrary to his training, which would have made him criminally liable.
In my view, he is a murderer because he chose to murder during that incident, knowing he’d be covered criminally by agency policy. I’m quite comfortable saying that, despite no criminal conviction.
OJ is also a murderer. But both were acquitted criminally for different legal reasons.

I'm as pro-police as they get, but that piece of shite and his sergeant need to fricking rot in jail for the rest of their lives.

He also said he felt threatened and felt the obviously very drunk guy on the ground with his hands in the air and his ankles crossed had the tactical advantage. He is a complete psychopath and what he says has absolutely no merit whatsoever.

I’m sure he knew that as long as claimed that, he’d be protected from criminal and civil liability. His agency on the other hand, will now be on the hook for millions. They’ll settle.
Bump this thread when the time comes and feel free to call me out on it if I’m wrong.

What? The dude was charged and put on trial. What else are you asking for?

That was not 2nd degree murder. That was 1st degree pre-meditated murder. Cop had his mind made up he was going to shoot somebody.
1st degree is harder to convict, but I tend to agree.
At the very least, this is something akin to depraved heart.
Most interesting from a procedural standpoint is that the judge barred admission of the words "you're fricked" on the side of the rifle following a 403 objection. Those words would have been very probative in proving his mental state ahead of the situation.

Fair point, this case was at least brought to trial, and given the status quo hats the best we can ask for.
But time and time again they get off. There’s obviously something wrong with the justice system, police training, or both since guys like this are still walking free.
This might be there most obvious and egregious unnecessary police killing I’ve ever seen. This cop should be hanging from a branch somewhere.

So you don't believe he was being truthful about his fears in the situation, but believe he is being truthful about following his training? How do you decide what to believe here exactly?

For starters, how about a system that's not rigged to protect you and your fellow thin blue liners when caught on tape executing a non-threating, unarmed civilian in a hallway?

Anyone know why the pig at the end of the video was trying in remedial vain to open room 500 instead of 502?
Posted on 12/8/17 at 8:08 pm to Sao
The video is hard to watch. Just wow.

I sincerely hope the downvotes are for the cop and not OP. That officer is the worst TPOS ever. WTF did I just watch?

I'm a former LEO & would hang that punk cop in a second -- although anyone w/ common sense can see that was murder.

I hope everyone who downvoted the OP gets the biggest, blackest dick in hell.

This isn't a black/white issue.
But I would be glad to help hold any downvoters down.

Police aren't really capable of murder. They receive special training so it isn't murder like when a civilian does it. I can't believe how some of y'all aren't backing the badge here
