In the area around Patient Plus are multiple abandoned buildings. Some are boarded up, some are unsecured and have remained in poor condition for several years. Logan says people will set fires inside the building across from the clinic; others are visibly taking drugs.

A few of the buildings share the same owner. The Harmony Center offers group homes, transitional living, and assisted housing support for people with developmental disabilities, mental illness and other challenges. The president and director of the Harmony Center is Collis Temple.

Temple owns dozens of properties around East Baton Rouge Parish, including a property directly behind Patel's clinic on Florida Boulevard, and two across the way on Atkinson Street, which are boarded up. Another building on the corner remains unsecured with windows smashed in.

I'm not scared to ask the obvious question.
Why is Collins Temple such a deadbeat slumlord scumbag?

The notorious 1st AA to play basketball at LSU, breaking the color barrier at the school. Way to show up and be a bright shining example for the AA youth, your people and the LSU communities.

Everything I hear about this guy - he is grifter that does not pay his bills.

I don’t understand the purpose of collecting slums. Even if you pay $10-15k each plus property taxes each year adds up. Are they purchased with grant money? Or are they exempt because they’re a nonprofit?
