Not a great add for whoever was trying to sell that lift.

Heard about it a couple days ago but hadn't seen any pics until this one. The first word at the auction is that it was an error by the car lift manufacturer (Champion, based nearby in Tempe, AZ) then I heard yesterday that the floor of the auction venue could not support the weight on it and it gave way. Champion is one of the industry leaders in manufacturing car lifts and the one I have in my garage and they recommend the lifts be bolted to the floor and this one obviously wasn't.

I’m guessing that’s at least 30k to 50k in damage to the Chevy.

the 55-56 were similiar in front. The 55 had half moon turn signal lights, the 56 were more square shaped.

Never understood this auction. Why pay a premium for a car when it’s very easy to find the same car through the net.

You can have Gilligan's car, I'll take Starsky & Hutch's Gran Torino.

Would you return to New Orleans if you were them?

There’s your answer.

I've purchased two vehicles shown at the auction off-property directly from the seller when they didn't meet the reserve and have saved thousands.

It's my understanding that "Reserves" are a thing of the past at B-J and all vehicles crossing the stage fetch whatever price that's the final bid.

I know Mecum still has the sellers right to put a Reserve on their vehicles and have seen several not sell when watching their auctions.

As for B-J, I've seen many very nice pickups sell for great prices considering the amount of work many of the sellers have put into them to have them hit the stage. I know I'd rather buy a mid 70's pickup that was a frame off build, new paint, new drivetrain, all new brakes, air suspension, new interior, etc. looking better than it did rolling off the showroom floor back then------often for much less than a new truck.
