Its not about time, its about safety. Many companies require you to back in park. First move forward. In my personal vehicle, I just pull in. If I do that in my work vehicle and hit something while backing out, good bye work vehicle priveleges.

And yesterday, I saw a dude reverse park on a one way lane and the parking spot is at a 45 degree angle. So when he ready to go, his default direction is the wrong way.

People who buy lottery tickets after they see how much change is leftover.
ETA - Actually all people who buy lottery tickets.

There's young guy that gets dropped off at this coffee shop I go to. They have an upstairs where people like to study and is usually quiet. I've been up there twice with this dude playing ESPN sports highlights on repeat with his speaker on. I asked him nicely if he had some headphones. He seemed kind of annoyed, but put in his headphones. The guy has some kind of mentally challenged issue, so I try to be nice to him.
What pisses me off the most are old people talking on their phone at the coffee shop. Most of us are in there reading or having a conversation with someone across from us. Then you have some old man that can barely hear that decides to bust out his phone and start yelling into it.

It's about physics and safety. You can maneuver a long wheel based vehicle better into a parking spot by reversing. When your first move leaving is forward you have a better understanding of your vehicle's surroundings. Are you more likely to reverse over a small child or run over a small child in front of your vehicle when leaving a parking spot?

Just in general.
We get it- you're so important, you want the world to hear your conversation.

I find that these people are very aware of what they are doing...they just don't give a frick about anybody else.

Cars waiting to get by? Backing into a parking spot is not only smarter/better, but it doesn't take much more time than pulling in if you know what you're doing. I always back in and it takes mere seconds.
I have a new coworker that shares a cubicle wall with me, and that motherfricker makes noise all day long. He does this little sound with his mouth (sort of like "chwwww chw chw chw chwwwwwwww") about 30-40 times a day, and then every single time he does that he starts narrating what he's fricking doing. He'll whisper to himself and narrate: "Okay, let's see...I need to click this.....nope, not that, let's go back.....um....oh, there it is. Let's click here, and...yeah, this is it. Now we need to find.........this one...yeah. There we go. I was supposed to enter that stuff here, but where is it?.......ah, there it is. Enter here...." blah blah fricking blah.
I finally had to tell him something last week. I was like dude, you have to stop narrating what you're doing. I made it light-hearted and laugh-y, and he doesn't even realize he's doing it. And he was like my bad, I'll be quiet. There are so many things that he does that just grind my gears. As much as I like my job compared to my previous job, I think I miss my old office more than anything else. Cubicle life sucks.

Jacklegs that pull right up to your bumper when you're trying to back in....

Maybe it is a car thing, but it is also easier to do a quick check up and down the lane as your are getting into your car to see if any one is about to start walking/driving down the lane.

People that start talking to you as they are walking into your office without catching your attention first. They can actually see me focused on my screens (could be TD, excel, financials...), yet they will just start telling me about their situation before I even know they are there.

I back in occasionally if it’s not inconveniencing others. Most times I pull in forward.
And in my 27+ years of driving I’ve never even come close to hitting someone while backing out.
I don’t think I’m some sort of savant; instead I just think I drive safely.

Talking over another person.
Talking out of their arse about a subject they know nothing about just to feel relevant.
Checking the phone while in a moving car.

Smacking while eating and people saying a word for you when all you do is pause to think of what you are trying to say
