LSU Lab School is splitting grades in half, with one half attending on M and W, and the other on T and Th, with everyone at home Friday.

I really hope we just get to choose in Texas. My 8th grader simply just doesn’t learn well at home. In person is much better.

Q: If, schools go to online classes, is the school board gonna pay for our internet service? I mean, part of my tax bill is for our schools.

There's no part-tine in the charter system where I live, they are starting early ,Aug 3rd in person with the students, knowing they might not return from Thanksgiving until January.
Extra buses will diverted from the high schools to practice social distancing. Lunches in the class room.

A lot of schools will follow, I expect all Parishes that can do online learning will be doing online learning in the fall.

Chalmette HS will not have everyone in the building in Phase 2. If we go to Phase 3, they will work on having more kids in the building each day, but probably not everyone.

July 1, 2020
Dear Parents,
Based on Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) and LSU guidelines regarding COVID-19, the ULS administration has developed a plan for Phase 2 or Phase 3 reopening of school on August 5, 2020.
If the Governor or LSU institutes Phase 1 restrictions, ULS will use only virtual teaching/ learning platforms. Also, there may be school closures (3-5 days) if the school environment is determined to be a source of ongoing COVID-19 spread and/or the ventilation (HVAC) system fails. The closure(s) will be made by the ULS administration with guidance and expertise from the Region 2 Medical Director.
This is an ACADEMIC outline for moving forward:
Student enrollment will be divided by family, into Group A and Group B, so that approximately 50% of the students will attend class at ULS on designated days Monday - Thursday. Students of faculty members may attend on both A and B days. Group A & B notifications will be made as soon as possible.
All class instruction will be virtual on Fridays...
...The master schedule will be maintained and followed on all days Monday – Friday.
*Friday – Some courses (ex. Dual Enrollment) will require students to test in small groups at ULS.
Instruction will be delivered synchronously and asynchronously based on grade/department and instructor. Attendance, instructional minutes, and state assessments are currently required.
Assignment deadlines and academic integrity will be maintained and enforced.
When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, ULS will resume face-to-face instruction with the requirement of mandatory attendance on Monday – Friday.
Cub Care will operate based on the Group A and Group B attendance days.
Financial consideration will be given for meal plans and Cub Care (similar to March-May, 2020.)
