Would an influx of unvaxed illegal immigrants increase the chances of measles making an appearance?

Yes absolutely

But a whole lot more americans now arent giving their kids vaccines even if they have been around for decades thanks to how the government rolled out the covid vaxx and the growth of pureblood mentality

I don’t know how kids survived back in the day with chicken pox, measles, flu and no vaccines for those.

A lot died (not from chicken pox though, thats a whole lot more dangerous for an adult to catch)

Agree. If the government tells you you have to get this brand new vaccine or lose your job, and you see that a) the disease isn’t as bad as they make it out to be and b) the vaccine doesn’t even work, you tend to lose trust in everything they say on the subject. They are pushing the flu shot, too, which doesn’t work half the time. They overplayed their hand and lost the trust of the people, even on vaccines that DO work and are against pretty bad diseases. I would hate to see diphtheria come back. Most people aren’t scientists and they go by what they see in their own lives. The vaxxes that they hear about and deal with most (Covid and flu which are now recommended to get yearly for the rest of your life) are arguably the worst ones.

I remember having measles as a kid. I was vaccinated, too. So measles and chicken pox. Guess we didn’t hear about those who died from it.

What do you mean? I swear I remember having measles. And we were all vaccinated. I’m guess it’s like all things, doesn’t catch all.

Do people not realize measles is no big deal? It’s a couple days off school. Chickenpox is worse.

“Incredibly ignorant”

I’m ignorant? You may want to look in a mirror on who’s ignorant. I literally had measles.

They are only an issue for babies, anyone else it’s just a few days of itchy bumps. Singles and chickenpox are worse. Actually I can think of 1,000 things that are worse.

Since the start of 2019, 555 cases of measles have been reported in the U.S., and the recent surge of this highly infectious disease has prompted New York City to issue violations and fines to those who refuse the measles vaccine.

Today, though we have a vaccine to prevent measles, many people remain unaware of its deadly history, and consider the disease to be a minor childhood illness. Healthcare providers continue to battle misinformation about the vaccine’s side effects, and rumors spread unchecked on social media

The past, however, shows us that it’s not only children who suffered; measles in adults has always had more serious consequences. During the Civil War, for example, about 20,000 cases were reported in Union soldiers, with about 500 deaths.

Who gives a shite if you had measles and didn’t have issues. The majority of people don’t have major problems but…
quote:

Most people survive measles, though in some cases, complications may occur. About 1 in 4 individuals will be hospitalized and 1–2 in 1,000 will die
That is a very high hospitalization rate for an incredibly contagious virus that is easily preventable

The threshold , for avoiding a full blown measles pandemic is about 80-90 % of the population vaccinated. It's a very contagious easily vaccinated virus.

Folks that feel they can be in the 10-20 % unvaccinated are shirking their public duty

Folks that pushed not real vaccines such as covid/flu have destroyed the public confidence in all vaccines and should be held accountable

Religious prohibitions should not be accepted for the critical few vaccines that are known quantities. Yes there. are limits to religious freedom including murder, taxes, and abuse

Unauthorized immigrants dropped during Obama’s terms. Maybe you were thinking of the GWB years when unauthorized immigrants almost tripled.

Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to allow millions of third world invaders to pour across our border.

I'm sure the antivaxxers have nothing to do with it.

Too bad you weren't of the "only an issue for babies" that died horrific death from the measles to spare us from the worse take I've ever seen in 35 years of the internet...

LOL. Couldn't have made that one up if I tried...

Here's my official Government link that says we have already effectively eradicated it in the past.

Maintain the elimination of measles, rubella, congenital rubella syndrome, and polio — IID-01
LMAO

We'll all be waiting with baited breath for your link that says we have outbreaks EVERY year. ...

The news talks about breakout cases so I assume that they actually exist. If the vaccine can cause breakout cases it can also cause a spread of the disease. I saw Paul Offit, the FDA vaccine expert, say that the best way to encourage vaccine uptake was to have a breakout. Offit said fear sells. Of course, we all knew that from the COVID experience.

I'm a 76 year old measles survivor. Lifelong immunity ain't that bad a deal.
