Change your own, pussy.

I do mine and it takes maybe 15 minutes. Filter is right there on top of engine. Oil is one fricking bolt with a crush washer.

Yep, that 20K battery change in a few years will offset the oil changes

German cars in general. I've had VW and Mercedes. Friends tell me BMW/Audi are the same.

My Mazda has been the cheapest I've ever owned.

Ive had an engine replaced from an oil change that went south.

They admitted fault, no hassles.

When I have to bootleg German OBD2 software and build my own diagnostic tool from a laptop....just to replace a battery on a BMW or a Mercedes.....just so I don't have to go to a dealership is a problem.

Main reason why I switched back to Japanese only vehicles.

You frickers that fork out that kind of money for routine maintenance are dim-witted pussies and could never survive on your own.

Any numbnuts can change the oil on a Camry.

Having the right scan tool to reset the oil change interval light is a PITA, as you figured out.

I do all my own generator services, 30KW and 12.5KW, but the two cars go to the dealership.

Taking expensive cars to the local "Take 5" is dumb AF, IMO.

A local shop that specializes in German cars is a great alternative, if there's one nearby.

My Denali battery died on a Sunday and I needed to replace it myself,. In a truck like that it used to be two screws and the loosen the posts with plenty of room to lift it, Now they put it where it us under the dash and after removing several screws and apparatus of multiple sizes you have to corkscrew the thing in and out.,

Mine is the same. And the replacement battery didnt come with a damn handle. WTF. Cheap bastards. Charge $230 for the battery and it doesnt come with a handle.

As much a pain in the arse to drop it into the hole where it goes, getting the old one out was even harder. Only about 1/4" of the sides are above the box it goes in so there was nothing to grab. Ended up using 2 vise grips on the top posts to lift it out.

bullshite design.

Handy as a shirt pocket.

My 93-year-old mother owns a 2009 Lexus RX 350.

A month ago, she complained to me that her lift gate would not stay open.

I was able to replace the struts for $50 and 15 minutes plus the time it took me to drive to O'Reilly to buy them.

I'm guessing I saved at least a couple hundred by not having to take it into a shop. More if I would have taken it to a dealer.

They screwed up a job a 13 year old can do, and you were without your car for supposedly months, yeah, that's the definition of a f'ing hassle.

Put me in a rental that day, had it for three weeks.
Put a new (not reman) 6.7 shortbllock in it, extended the warranty another 50K.

They made a mistake, and took care of it.

Several of the luxury brands, tell you that they will void the warranty if the oil changes and service isn’t done at the dealership

Real Japanese cars, like made in the land of the rising sun, not made in America, are the way to go. Best quality.

If you can't just buy a new engine instead of changing the oil, then you can't afford a Mercedes pal.

For some manufacturers, you void the warranty if you don't have regular service performed at a dealership.

Not true at all and is specifically illegal for them to do that based on the Magnusson-Moss act.

Now if you buy some bullshite extended warranty then they throw weird stipulations, but those aren’t manufacturers warranties.

Don't go to dealerships for work.
Mercedes is a premium.
But I mean some cars an oil change costs thousands.
Some cars have hard to do oil. I know the Gallardo had 8 oil drain plugs and it usually cost $3500 for an oil change.

Even jiffy lube usually carrys Liquid Moly or whatever German oil you need.
