Take that bad boy to Firestone and get you some tender loving Pennzoil for less than $100.
Pennzoil actually makes some good motor oil. The key is matching the engine and its condition to the correct motor oil, specifically the additive package. One mistake I have seen a lot of people make in the last few years is not using an API SP oil in direct-injected engines, this often happens because it is not noted in the manual (fairly new understanding) or they just grab something that is the right viscosity and are finished. DI engines are susceptible to LSPI (low speed pre-ignition) and high detergent oils (specifically calcium compounds) make LSPI more likely. API SP oils will have calcium numbers in the 800-900 where many oils are in the 1500-1600 range. Even with some thought people screw it up since they often shift to a high mileage oil with seal swell agents and they often have a very strong detergent package.
Lots of good oil info out there but I suggest looking for info from tribologists and this is an area I would not suggest Project Farm. He does great work in some areas but the only way to test engine oil is actually in an engine or at least use a new oil analysis if you can interpret the results. In the end, what may be a great oil may not be the oil for your engine even if it is the recommended viscosity which is as far as most people go.
I haven't even touched oil filters, which is a whole separate ball of wax.

Okay Einstein, no need to show off your super high IQ. We’re not all rocket scientists here.
If you can’t change your own oil after watching a YouTube video, you’re a moron. And you either had a loser father that didn’t know or he was absent, else you would already know how.

Don’t Mercedes have that wierd drain plug where you have to suck off the oil from the top of the engine instead of using gravity to empty the pan. Then there is always the risk of leaving debris and sludge that would normally flow out the pan from the bottom using a conventional drain plug.
Also, some have side fill washer fluid fill ports because heaven forbid a Mercedes owner has to open the hood.
Another thing, I saw a newer Mercedes in a parking lot with a nice aggressive looking air grill, but as I got closer it wasn’t a grill at all it was just a wrap as it was flat finish. I guess Mercedes figured out how to cool the engine without air.
That is some fine German engineering.

You realize you dont have to go to dealership for oil change right?
I actually enjoy changing my own oil. The boys like helping too. I stock up when Costco puts the Kirkland label on sale.
My 7.3L diesel truck and van take a lot of oil but it’s still only like $50-60 total w filter and 30 mins for me to do it myself.
Less hassle than driving to shop and back plus waiting (my butler is on extended vacation). And the satisfaction of seeing the spent oil pouring out is a bonus.

Like mom and I told you last week, there is absolutely nothing in this world stopping you from driving that 1978 Lincoln Town car grandpa.

But don’t you have to drive to a place and back to drop off your used oil? Unless you are like my friend who just digs a hole in his backyard and pours it in, and then covers it up.

You wont find any empathy on the OT, we all just buy a new King Ranch when the first oil change comes up.

Built better and easier/cheaper to work on. Probably rides better too. I’ll take it!

Lol. I’m sure that’s what people are here do too. I just save up a bunch and drop it off at Walmart when I’m in town

For some manufacturers, you void the warranty if you don't have regular service performed at a dealership.
I am bringing one of our vehicles in for service tomorrow, and the scheduled maintenance is gonna run over $1000.

Just wait until you hear how much they charge you to change a headlight.

Jeez dude, I owned a Benz in NOLA and never went to the dealer. There's a reason its called the "stealership". This is a self-inflicted wound. Move on bro.
