What point are you trying to make?
That he was a gifted orator and accomplished reconstruction of Germany after WWI and brought them out of the Depression quicker than any other nation during that time period. I think that's the point he was trying to make.

Dan Carlin asks this question in the opening of “Wrath of the Khans”.
How that once hundreds of years have passed, and the real pain of the violence is over, we tend to look at historical people differently.
No one really cares that Genghis Khan and the mongols killed untold millions. We can speak glowingly of their tactics, their ideology, their weaponry, them as people, and no one bats an eye.
Because it is still fairly recent, the players in WW2, especially when viewed in these warped modern social mores, don’t have that luxury yet. At least not among the subjective souls who can’t separate the art from the artist.

Good answer. It is taboo to admit that a bad person had some good qualities.

Also today: Columbine massacre. Deep water Horizon.

But unlike Genghis Khan, Hitler lost and would be nothing but a footnote in history if not for his character

I didn’t know that, but it’s not that surprising if it’s actually true.
It is 100% true. Before WWI Hitler tried to get into art school in Vienna but was turned down. He ended up basically homeless (only staying in hostels ocassionally) and broke, making a meager living off selling his paintings on the streets in Vienna. Here’s an example of his work…
He was also a avowed vegetarian. Hitler was a longtime hypochondriac and suffered a litany of gastrointestinal issues. He felt a vegetarian diet helped his condition.
One lesser known aspect of Hitler, mainly due to the fact it runs counter to today’s party narrative, is that on top of being an ardent anti-communist, Hitler was equally opposed to Capitalism. He was at his core a socialist.

He was also Doctor Morell's "Patient A" and a total meth-head. That's one of the reasons I don't put too much credence into rumors of his Argentinian escape. He, apparently, had needle tracks all over his body.

I also read that he liked to receive briefings while taking a walk because of the impressive amount of flatulence caused by his diet.

It have always been intrigued as to how so many people followed or failed to fight back against him. How he was able to just rise up and take power when he came from nothing and he did it in such a short period of time.

Of course, having any sort of objective view of history makes us Nazis.
Par for the course for people like you

Did he actually have a hand in designing machine guns (MG-34 and/or MG-43) with a high cyclic rate of fire?

Say what you will about hitler but i would 100% put a hitler up in my house. What a conversation starter a Hiter would be.
"oh dire wolf, where did you get this"
"oh this old thing? it is a hitler"
