As I said, it's relative. LA nickels and dimes you to death from a bureaucratic standpoint, but it's still very cheap to obtain property, people, etc.

that's my point. compared to other states in the region, Texas schools are vastly superior despite said "issues".

That is higher than Scruffy expected LA to be.

Didn't Texas just post the 2nd highest per capita number of Blue Ribbon schools behind only California?

I’m sure it’s nice. It’s just another shops of legacy, watters creek, park lane, Preston hollow, that Toyota place in las colinas, etc. They’re all over now.

Maybe the moral is that no one wants your cheap land or people?

Yeah, we only cracked the Top 25 in two categories, cost of living and cost of doing business. It's alot easier to be cheap than it is to improve other areas, so I don't see a pivot coming anytime soon.

until the gov and legislature decide to cut your tax incentives and raise your inventory tax. Then costs go up and your company moves to Texas.

It's not just high school education.

Texas is usually mid-30s when ranked by percentage of workforce with 4 year degrees, for example.

The schools have “huge” problems? Yeah that’s why damn near every major college especially SEC and Big12 colleges have a large amount of students from TX. #TexasTigers

But is Louisiana still number 1 in ethics? You know with all those crazy ethics rules that catch people on crazy technical things but doesnt catch real criminals.

Based off of the 2017 list ( LINK), they would be at least 3rd behind Illinois and Pennsylvania. Possibly lower, but I was too lazy to calculate the per capita for states like New Jersey and Maryland who have a lot

Texas schools are good compared to the rest of the south, compared to the rest of the country it’s still below average. I would put the nice suburban school districts in Houston/DFW/Austin up against almost anywhere thou

Most schools that aren’t the worthings of the world are reasonable.

There are some absolute dumpster fires in the major school districts no doubt.

Yeah and the RGV schools are rough. And I don’t think people on here realize just how many people live in the RGV

Probably mostly due to NO and BR.
