I was in my 20s before I learned that black people are racist to other black people re: skin tone.
Lighter-skinned Dad ( my friend) was angry his daughter was dating a darker-skinned guy.

Ive seen interviews with American blacks that moved there claiming that Ghanians treat them like a piggy bank to be squeezed dry, often charging them double for the same goods and services.

The former slaves sent to Liberia by American Colonization Societies almost immediately clashed with the locals over slavery. For the locals, it was a cash industry and when the new arrivals tried to stop it, they attacked them and nearly wiped them out or enslaved them all over again. If not for a British frigate who saved them, they would have been wiped out.
