Not even a US operation, article says they were hired by UAE.

USA might have asked UAE if they'd be willing to do it as a false front. You never know.

Putting that blue dress in safe hands saved her.

I agree that's used as an argument, but it is not legit. The whole point of assassination is to target specific individuals. Terrorists target innocent civilians, and that's completely the opposite.

it's not legit in your opinion. but what if saudi, russia, china, or some other foreign power were assassinating american businessmen, political leaders, etc. whom they didn't like?

it's not always about killing innocents, sometimes it's about meddling and trying to put "friendly" people in places of power and influence. which this appears to be.

I have nothing against U.S. soldiers or civilian operatives doing dirty work ordered by our military.

But frick doing the bidding of any Arab country.

We get to call our more public assassinations missile strikes and more recently drone strikes.

Which I'm cool with as long as

A) we keep humans somewhere in the loop.

B) we don't use that tech here.

So that means eventually it will be fully automated kill bots on every corner and school.

I'll lead our human wave attacks from behind.

and his family's close relationships with higher ups in the kingdom probably had more to do with it.

Appears Jamal was on the wrong side of the royal family in-fighting. I imagine Jamal has sources, contacts, and inside intelligence that the other side wanted at all costs.

The assassins (and their bosses) who allowed this operation to become an international gaffe will likely face long prison sentences - or worse.

And another excerpt from the same National Review article indicating Jamal's ties with Saudi intelligence (and the Royal family):
quote:

He traveled with King Abdullah and grew close to Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the billionaire investor, who was later arrested by Crown Prince Mohammed. Prince Turki, the former intelligence chief, hired Mr. Khashoggi as an adviser when he served as ambassador to Britain and the United States.

Abrham Golan is a former Mossad Special Forces soldier who now lives in Pittsburgh.

Golan is center right and former Navy Seal Isaac Gilmore on center left.

Golan and a former Navy Seal named Isaac Gilmore flew there from the United States, with their host being none other than Muhammed Dahlan, former head of the Palestinian Preventive Security Forces.

One of the main targets was Anssaf Ali Mayo, a Yemeni Islamist leader who according to the UAE is a terrorist who leads the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Golan said that the team he headed was responsible for several major assassinations, but he refused to specify the names of those killed. He said that the United States needs an assassinations program similar to the one he has been running for months in Yemen.

“I just want there to be a debate,” he said. “Maybe I’m a monster. Maybe I should be in jail. Maybe I’m a bad guy. But I’m right.”

According to him, the model for the assassinations industry is based on Israel’s targeted killing of terrorists.

Two Jewish guys, one of which was in Mossad, were hired by a Palestinian military leader?

The US has been doing this since WWII. Before really, but after then is when the CIA started things in earnest. Just look at how South America transformed.

Voice of reason in this retarded thread where people aren't understanding the world implications if this stuff isn't condemned.

Spear is Blackwater's new name, isn't it?

Also, we can make it illegal for American pedophiles to go to other countries and rape kids, we can sure as hell make it illegal for people to go overseas and murder for hire.

Blackwater changed its name to Xe Servicess about 10 or 12 years ago. I'm not sure what, if any, affiliation tbey have with Spear.

Are you really surprised by this? You can’t be the big dog on the porch for as long as we have without doing some messed up stuff. We like to call out other countries but knowing good and well the US government carriers out or authorizes the same type of actions.

This is old news.

A more interesting can of worms to open is all of the former SF types down in Mexico / Central & South America training Cartel soldiers.
