They didn’t “sit on a runway”

I’ve switched between United, Delta, and American over the years. So I’ve experienced all three for regular business travel.

I almost always fly Southwest and never had a problem with them, but I completely agree. American Airlines, between them Delta and United, is by far the worst. And I am not really a fan of either of them. Nothing but problems, cancellations, and complete rudeness for AA.

Flying is now truly as bad as taking the bus

I think people who take the bus dress better and are better behaved.

I took the same American Airlines flight to Minneapolis every week between April and June of this year.

No bullshite - all but one of those flights were delayed more than an hour. And we sat on the tarmac at O'Hare for 4+ hours one time.

I don't fly American anymore. Horrifically bad airline, and I think they are getting worse every day.

I don’t need to go to Barbados. There are plenty of beach destinations on the east and gulf coast that I can enjoy.

When I take a trip in my truck, there are no delays before departure, and AC is always on. Also no fist fights with the poors in my truck.

Can your truck get me to London or Barcelona?

I remember in grade school ( mba) in one of the classes we talked about the musician that saw his guitar being thrown around by the crew and broke his guitar...he later complained but the airline denied his claim ...so he wrote a song about it. The class lecture was about the consequences of bad business practices etc and how many views this song got and the negative publicity the airline reeived. Other classmates offered similar stories. I offered up that it doesn't mean a thing to the airlines... Completely and utterly useless thing to do other than than a cathartic exercise ( writing a song). People may switch to Delta.. Until Delta does something stupid. Then switch to United and then back to American... I sat on the runway for 90+ min at O'Hare last week. I'm not driving from Jax to Chicago. The big three know just how sucky each airline is and maintain avg. At this point that they don't skimp on maintenance

While the article is obviously dramatic

Not dramatic at all. I would’ve raised hell. Sitting in that small tin can with no AC is enough to make people sick. Never mind not being able to get food or drink. Try sitting in the same seat at home for 6 hours and no AC.

What about the issue of no air conditioning for that long a period of time in the heat and no food or water offered?

That would never happen on a Greyhound bus.

I have to fly AA next month cross-country. It was only option available.

Haven't flown them in over a decade and NOT looking forward to it.
