So in your opinion, the country needs to build more subs and nukes or whatever instead of paying people back the money they put into social security (the largest entitlement).
Got it.
Moron.

Yes, that's exactly what I said.
Are you really that goddamn stupid?

The Autobahn in Germany is two lanes almost exclusively. Yet it works amazingly because the lack of speed limit naturally lets cars separate themselves.
Also study after study shows that modest increases in lanes do little of any to alleviate traffic. The problem is similar to that of urban housing: they get filled up as soon as you build them. Sure, theoretically a mass increase in supply would make a dent, but you need much more than you think or would be realistic.

Towing vehicles should be outlawed. Why it’s allowed for a junked out car to be towed at 45 mph is beyond me.
When they do decide to expand , theyll only do one lane instead of two.

Well, that and the Polizei handing you a 3K Euro ticket for being in the left lane when you're not actively passing.
....and I don't mean the US version where "Oh, there's a car a quarter of the mile ahead that I'm going 1MPH faster than and I'll eventually pass him so I'll just park here in the left lane." Your arse better pass and IMMEDIATELY get back in the right lane even if you're going to pass another car in a few moments or your arse is getting an insanely priced ticket.

an interstate between Tuscaloosa and Mobile, or quality and reliable high speed rail.
Man, that would be awesome and alleviate so much weight off off 65. You could by pass the shithole of Montgomery. I guess it would be Interstate 63.
But first we need to get the bridge over the Mobile RIver and the bayway widened and built.

I can't speak for everywhere but I-10 and I-12 should be completely 3 lanes.

It's not even in the same zip code. Unless you're including social security and medicare. Which I'll full support cutting since they steal it from my paycheck and I'll never see a penny of it back.

If people would use the left lane correctly it would effectively give us another lane on the highway.

This. Family members think I'm crazy, but if I'm going more than a couples on I-10 in either direction, I always prefer to do it after dark. Either head out the night before or just get back late.

It wouldn’t matter. Every dumbass in the state of Arkansas drives in the left hand lane Lol. If ever there was a state that tickets left hand lane drivers it’s Arkansas. Worst in the lower 48

All of this. While I agree that three lanes helps over here quite a bit, educating driving fundamentals and adding the fear of punishment are what we need. People are really only concerned about breaking a speed limit law and never really concerned over any of the other right of way laws.

Look around. It's all people like yourself. Leave a day early or travel early in the morning. Everyone would like an extra day at the beach. Leave a day later as well. Planning. It' like people who complain about contraflow during a hurricane because they left at the same time as a million others did. PLAN!!!!
The problem is still there and not how the system was designed

Also, it should be illegal to build a bridge of any kind and it bit support 3 lanes of traffic
Lafayette just repaired a flat bridge that is very close to our airport and is on a crappy 2 lane road. The spent MONTHS and only made it a 2 lane bridge again. Why not build it capable of handling 4 lanes since you know at some point your goal is to increase business to your airport!
Lack of forward thinking by these idiots is what is a major problem

America doesn't need thousands of miles more of their land covered in concrete, we need less.
Technically, the two lane interstates cause more traffic and leave people sitting in traffic burning fossil fuels for longer.

In many areas where the freeways are a major truck route, this is the case.
I-10 and I-12 in South Louisiana are definitely in need of a capacity expansion to 6 and sometimes 8 or 10 lanes.
I-55 between Hammond and Memphis definitely isn't. 4 lanes is more than adequate in much of rural Mississippi although there are some opportunities for improvement around Jackson.

There is also traffic problems there in some places.

It would be nice if America had some Japanese style bullet trains.
In Louisiana's case, it would be nice if there were more efficient alternative routes to I-10 and I-12. US 190 is still a narrow two lane cross section in many areas, there is nothing continuously running east-west in Livingston south of I-12 right now. That will eventually make I-12 "main street" in that area as it develops.

Looks like the Google Street view on eastbound I-10 in Baton Rouge was taken during the tail end of the evening rush hour. Lots of RVs and trucks stuck in there.
