Amazon to start collecting LA sales tax

Amazon has warehouses in Texas (a physical presence) so they have to collect the tax there. I don't know what changed in Louisiana to cause them to begin collecting the tax here.

The La. legis recently passed a law IIRC. Although I read somewhere it's not enforceable but I guess Amazon will bend and pass the buck over vs. fighting it out. NOLA.com article on internet sales Tax collection
