It will be awesome to get same day and one-day shipping on items, but I just want to know how they plan on turning that thing into a distribution center.

It seems like a mall layout would not be optimal for warehouse/distribution space. Those spaces are generally best with few interior breaks and lots of straight lines with abundant exterior access. Malls have none of that.

Then it fits Louisiana.

Knowing the way Amazon spends money, they may just bulldoze the damn thing and start over. They may view the large property as a better asset than the shitty old building. I'm sure all their systems are designed for their custom-built centers.

This is great.

But just like anytime something good happens to BR, people here will find a way to shite on it.

There are plenty of potential employees in the area.

Very close to St. Francisville, Zachary and Central too.

That seems like the obvious decision. They probably like that it’s on airline with “easy” access north, south and east.

This could be the start of revitalizing Florida Blvd

Cortana was at one time the largest retail mall in Baton Rouge

As I recall, it was one of the largest malls in the USA when it was built.

It's a great location. It's basically in the center of the city.

Remember BucEes?

I remember they were supposed to open here, but what happened with that?

Parish and State officials leapt onto them with both feet and began making demands before they even purchased the property. BucEes was what was happening and got the hell out with the quickness.

That's a really good thing - if it actually goes through. Amazon will put money into and take care of it for as long as they're there.

While JBE is good at screwing up things, I do not believe he is in SWB's league. She is natural, fluid, and polished at making a cluster out of a simple process.

If she fricks it up, I’m sure St George will be able to find a large chunk of land close to the highways and interstates for this purpose.

JBE is smart enough to be a slimy democrat and still cover his tracks. SWB doesn’t even try to hide her shite.

the property is right next to two US highways (US 67 & US 190) and only a few miles from I-10. Though the department stores are already open area "warehouses" construction wise. they would only need to take out the interior Mall sections

I sure hope so.

Properties north of Florida Blvd are insanely cheap.

I swear to God, if SWB AOC's this Amazon deal, people should physically grab her up and throw her out of the city.

Throw her out? She’d be going off the bridge.
