Am I stupid for buying knockoffs on Amazon?

Once had a nice pair of Birkenstock slides that I paid $130 for. They didn’t last more than a year. Just bought some cheap Chinese imitations on Amazon for $34. They are amazingly comfortable.
Needed a pair of stretchy golf pants for a trip. Bought a pair on Amazon for $25. I literally wear them everywhere.
My good Bushnell binoculars broke. (I like watching birds.) Bought some cheap ones on Amazon for $31 and they are better than the expensive ones that broke.
Life is too short. Be the lowest common denominator.

The problem today is the quality of name brand stuff has come down to the knockoff but want to you to continue to pay high prices.

UFFan’s law of the internet:
If a sentence begins with “Am I stupid”, the answer is always “yes.”

I have bought some of their chinos and wouldn’t waste money on anything more expensive.
I stopped buying expensive shirts with logos awhile back. Total waste of money paying for a logo on a shirt. I will only buy if it on major sale.

You are using this phrase wrong.

I buy my cargo shorts from Amazon. $16 a piece. They last a year and I get a new round. Go ahead and hate, don’t care.

This. Not much point paying for premium anymore when it lasts as long as the lesser brand or knockoff--although there's a time to shell out for quality, depending on the item and occasion.

Everything is all made in the same factories now.

Yep. If it’s all coming from the same place, might as well keep your replacement costs down.

If what you buy does the job you want it to do then who gives a shite?

You’ve been luckier than me, I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. However, the cheap crap that I buy are from random Facebook websites and after a few tries, I gave up…. the stuff that showed up literally looked nothing like it did in the advertisement.
