They get you on the site to look at an item next thing you know you are bombarded with other offers for credit back if you spend X or purchase X amount of items. Yeah, people have been conditioned to obsess over the name brand instead of pay attention to the actual quality of so much.
My late grandmother was an accomplished seamstress and I recall her at Christmas looking closely at the fabrics and stitching of the gifted clothes and not saying a word but usually wrinkling her brow a little bit.

This is the way.
I'm a runner, and I buy most of my running gear at Academy.
I buy their "house" brand, which I think is called BCG. It is 50% or more less expensive than the equivalent Nike, Under Armor or Adidas branded stuff, wears just as well, and is comfortable.

China has some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the world. They cannot make a pair of $30 binoculars that are worth a sh!t.
