Am I a bad person if I know I owe a business, but haven't paid because no invoice?

Looking over some business stuff this morning while the wife and baby are sleeping, it's been close to a year now and I still haven't received invoices for $30k worth of work I know I owe. How long do you ride before reaching out?
So much money lost every year due to bad clerical work.

Depends on the business.
Mom and pop? You're an a-hole.
Large business? ...how can you pay a bill you don't have.

Ummmm they should be reaching out to you.
But if you indeed know you owe it,why not go ahead and pay?

Without an invoice...how much should he pay?

I guess I'm a bad person. If a company doesn't send an invoice within 4 months of work complete, I will absolute stiff you per our Ts and Cs at current company.
Then dare you to sue me.
I do it regularly.

It's not intentional, I pay invoices when I receive them. I just notice every couple of months and I shrug it off thinking the invoice is coming. But damn son, a year is a minute.

Have you called requesting an invoice? Might have been sent to the wrong address or lost in the mail. If there's no record of it, you have nothing to pay... kind of a bad move not to call them up and check on it, though.

I’d probably inquire about it, but I also wouldn’t do their job for them

As previously posted maybe it got lost in the mail.
What happens if you move on and a year later they send it and you aren’t prepared to pay? Mom and Pop shop or not. Good business practice is to pay in a timely order and not ignore debt just because you didn’t get a piece of paper.

I have to do monthly cost projections on my jobs, so I’m always asking vendors to send their shite because I know it’s coming sooner or later. The quicker I know about it, the better my projections are. I’ve got a select few companies that send stuff months later, so they’re usually on my email list after about a month or 2

Always wait for physical bills from medical providers.
Comparison of the EOBs from your insurer to the bills from the providers reveals billing errors, and they are frequent.

I do not enjoy telling people to pay their bills. I shouldn’t have to.
Karma is a bitch. Do the right thing and pay

Call, explain you owe them money. Have them clarify how much and how they’d like to receive payment.
I would’ve done this about 300-330 days ago.

Be honest and ask them for an invoice. If they don’t produce one, at least you tried to pay them.

We self audit every year and pay subcontractors whether they invoiced or not. If you knowingly owe money and don’t pay it’s the same as stealing.
