I think Bernie Goetz shooting four of those frickers attempting to rob him had as much effect as several other things.

It ain’t fun when the rabbits can shoot back at you.

I'm not advocating anyone go out and start a war however criminals knowing that there is a major deterrent possibly waiting on them will change the situation.

have a daughter enrolled in her Junior year LSU. She is involved in Greek life. She told us yesterday that they received something internally (not sure if it was campus police or school admin/sorority, etc...) stating that they now believe 'this may' be related to a gang initiation practice of some sort. I'm assuming getting a clean kill on a girl involved in Greek life or something similar as it was explained to me. The directives from the message she received instructed all girls involved in Greek life to remove any markings or stickers from their cars that would identify them as a campus student or member of any of the sororities.

Again, I have not seen it yet so I can't state who the information was sent from but as of yesterday evening my daughter said the paring garage was full of girls and their boyfriends stripping their cars of anything that would identify them as a sorority member.

That's all the information I have but I will read the other pages and update this once I see the information my daughter received firsthand

Yeah, gangs want to put the heat on themselves by committing crimes that have no monetary value.

I know people panic when things happen. As someone mentioned, like when BR had a serial killer or after Katrina. People are scared and rational thinking goes out of the window, which is understandable, but these type of rumors always spread when something happens.

Even after 9/11 I remember people saying shite like "L.A. will be attacked next. I heard that its just a matter of time, but there is really nothing that can be done about it... blah blah blah".

But now, with FB, rumors spread like wildfires.

All live in state. I’m not referring to people who moved far away and lost track of home.

The eyewitness to the murder identified the tPOS as black males, who were 25 years of age. If it was a gang initiation the perps would’ve been in their teens.

The thugs who committed this murder were more than likely hardened career criminals who have had multiple run ins with BRPD. IMO, it’s more plausible that some kind of monetary gain by the thugs was the motive behind the killing.

They clearly didn’t steal the car, nor did they steal her purse out of it.

Not sure if it is because the car was locked and they were making a break for it or if they had something else in mind and it was out the window once shots got fired.

i would think this made them gtfo immediately...i think i read where the witness said the car kept going for a few seconds after the shots...which leads me to believe they shot her as she was trying to get away

I don’t know, just spitballing here, but maybe they didn’t take the car because it was riddled with bullet holes, covered in blood and had a dead body in the front seat?

Just an untested theory.

well if they live within 20 miles of LSU I think they are being over dramatic. BR has become a shite hole and has terrible crime but white people aren't usually the victims.

That’s a retarded response.

So if a person lives in Baton Rouge, they are overreacting sending their kid to Fayetteville if they are concerned about crime?

It’s easier to control younger kids, but college kids are out at all hours, so it makes sense for parents to want a safe environment.

It was the initial intent of the tPOS. An attempted carjacking or armed robbery, which resulted in Allie resisting or she panicked, which resulted in the thugs opening up fire on the car because the tPOS panicked as well.

well i think some of the reactions you are getting are total BS and they aren't sending kids out of state...maybe ULL or SLU. It's retarded for a parent to think they can keep their kid safer in another city where they have no control of where they are and what they are doing. Many kids close to BR would still live at home. I assume you live in or near BR...would you have advised your daughter to stay away from government st alone at 2am?

I just got a mental image of Jules & Vincent taking a ride to Jimmy’s in Toluca Lake, with Marvin’s corpse in the backseat.

This assumes kidnapping or otherwise wasn’t in consideration before shots got fired.
