It's not societies problem to raise someone else's kids. There's plenty of people who were raised in the hood who know right from wrong.

How are they supposed to know right from wrong? They were probably raised by a single mom who worked a minimum wage job. The streets raised them. Every level of society failed them… parents, schools, media, etc. this world is broken. We all need to look at ourselves and see what we are doing to help the problem. Revenge will not bring her back.

All of your societal failings need to be addressed. And you're right, without making some changes future generations will be raised the same way and commit the same acts. You have to figure out how to reach the next generation of parents, and the current kids who are in elementary school. Break the cycle and convince them that there's more to life than crime, drugs and lawlessness

Having said all that, nothing is going to transport the killers back in time and change their minds or attitudes. They are who they are. And they need to be removed from the earth like they removed Allie.

Fix the future, frick these guys

this is the most hackneyed, laughable pile of bullshite i've seen here in a while...it's also incredibly racist of you to imply that black people are incapable of grasping the difference between right and wrong...

Ok. Then let's start acting like they do rather than coddling these frickers like they're toddler for political points. They know right and wrong. They know they're wrong, let's start throwing the book at them.

Your point is truthful. What you say is correct even if nobody here will accept it.

You’re right, they need to be taught how to behave if their parents failed them. That being said, it’s not my fault their parents failed them. So I won’t feel bad.

But again, you make a great point. We need to solve this problem. This is why churches and community groups exist. I’m involved with groups or support these groups often. That’s what I can do to help the problem.

Now, all of that being said, they broke the law so regardless of how they were raised, they should face Justice under the law.

I’m just saying we need to take a hard look at our society to figure out why this happened to begin with.

Ok, let’s do that. It happened because of ghetto culture.

We used to call this southern redneck culture. Before that, it could be found among the Welsh, Highland Scots, Ulster Scots, and border English known as North Britons.

Why do you think it quickly eroded in those other examples yet still persists in the US as ghetto culture and is seemingly getting worse?

Are we counter-intuitively actively preserving and enabling ghetto culture in this country? Or are you more comfortable denying that ghetto culture is the cause and more comfortable denying that we are enabling and preserving it?

I don't share my life story often, but today you will get the education LSU did not provide.

I was born in East Texas in abject poverty. I grew up in a series of trailers across the Southern US. I went to 6 schools from 8th grade to 12th. My Mom had a tenth-grade education and an undiagnosed mental health condition. She was a single Mom when she was not married, and she did that often. She never had a job.

In my hood, there was no white privilege, and a mind was not a terrible thing to waste if you were unfortunate enough to be me.

Despite this, I educated myself. I left the trailer park and made something of myself, but only after beating drug addiction, and several abusive relationships.

Society did not fail them. It allowed them to have things I would have been incredibly grateful for as a kid. Compassion, free food, STEM, free medical care, social programs, college, and free housing.

The fact that after all this time, people like them exist, is not a failure on society's part, it's their failure. They are dragging themselves down, and they refuse to break the cycle of poverty and madness they live in because it works for them, and at the end of the day it's far easier than what I did.

What I've done takes courage. Something they will never have.

That’s reality. The world has the haves and have nots.

Chime in. What are YOU doing? I mean, aside from expressing some guilt.

Nope, but it would make sure the killer doesn’t do it again.

because the ones who did this have zero value for life, aren’t scared of slaps on the wrist, and refuse to be taught morals. You don’t think a teacher tried at some point. Get out of here with the society failed them bullshite. Check your pay stub next check, society gets plenty

I am surprised honestly that Dale Brown hasn’t put his 2 cents in concerning the thuggery in Baton Rouge.
