OK, OT Brothers and Sisters. Time to show up as a very large, loud group at every City Parish meeting until they address not only this horrific murder and the release of the violent back into our communities after crimes are committed, but also the destruction of our city by the brainless thugs in charge downtown. It is more than time. Where can we find a calendar of events for the council, Mayor and or useless police chief?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they could only get signatures from people living within the proposed city limits of St. George, correct?

As Mayor-President, a recall of Broome means we can get signatures from people in St. George, Central, and Zachary. Plus I’d imagine we’d get a good amount of signatures in BR proper as well.

A .22 caliber would make a hole so tiny you might not even see it in the dark at distance.

If you are familiar with firearms and listened to the video you will know that was not a .22 being fired.

We need more shame billboards targeting the media and politicians.

Isn’t there a picture of Nakamoto sitting next to Broome at a gala with smiles on their faces? That would make a good billboard

A recall petition will not get anywhere, but it will cause problems for the Mayor. Where do I sign up?

The only reason I can think of that the media isn’t all over this is race. They think they’ll get hounded about only caring because she’s white. This was a completely innocent actual college student with a great life ahead of her shot down in cold blood. Completely different than 99% of BR murders. The lack of motivation by the media is really pissing me off. I expect the mayor and police chief to shite the bed.

What needs to happen from an outside the box standpoint is that a hundred people need to show up and disrupt the entrance to places like Exxon Mobile, Shaw, OLOL, etc and put THEM under pressure.

You cant change the people who vote for the idiots in charge. They are a non variables.

But you CAN change, or eliminate the funding these idiots get to run their campaigns which helps new candidates. Exon Mobile alone can triple the size of BRPD and pay them all six figures and still be getting a great deal from this state, as they pay very little in taxes.

We had one in the 70s when I grew up (Al Amiss). This crime would have been met with a dragnet of the hoods.

For what? This is one of the dumber ideas in this entire thread, good grief.

While I don't agree with that specific approach, I have posted in other threads that the larger companies and organizations such as LSU, Exxon, OLOL, etc., should be more vocal about the state of crime in the city.

Their employees, customers, students, etc., deserve better and these organizations have a voice and power to enact change.

Most of them had no problems commenting during the George Floyd/BLM riots and calling for change. Let's see them do it now.

How much in parish taxes should they pay? Define “very little.”

On hundred oaks yesterday morning there was a shootout involving 2 vehicles. Looks like the corner of hundred oaks and Ramsey drive. Those are million dollar homes. Crazy!

It's surely not the ideal solution, but what else you gonna do? Whine on message boards? Recall petitions?

I'm just saying that these large companies play a significant role in getting people elected.

They pay about $10M in property taxes, on a property worth $2.2B. Only about $700M worth of that $2.2B property is taxable. This state exempts the rest.

For comparison, Baytown Tx, Exxon has a property worth $2.8B and pays $48M in taxes.

And we do this for just about every major company in the state. I'm not one of those who want to see companies raped by the govt, but there has to be balance.

Or they just said let’s kill an LSU student on their way home from radio bar tonight??

Was she wearing identifiable clothing? Is Radio Bar a place where thugs frequent? If not, how would they know she went to LSU?
