I don't think it's absolutely irrelevant.
then explain your case as to why you disagree

most everyone is purely discussing the video and/or the actual 911 transcripts
I haven't seen many (if any) sensationalized media reports discussed in this thread

Like I said, you don't know what a strawman argument is.
Super duper. Good for you. That and $0.25 will give you a quarter.

You alleged that people were believing what the media wants them which is a preposterous position because no one is really basing their opinion on anything other than the video.
OK. I didn't say everyone was doing this by that way, but whatever.

So unless you are alleging that the video is inaccurate, then your initial point is absurd. It's the only reasonable conclusion.
Wow. This logic is astounding.

I don't see how media agendas matter when we're discussing a video.

What other defense do they have that’s not shoddy?
They don't. But of course you have people here that are arguing that an alleged gun charge in the victim's history just makes blowing him away justifiable.
As I said, the only reason they made it this far without charges is because the two previous DAs made efforts to protect them with some BS citizen's arrest claim. And now it's blown all the way up in the media.
They're fricked. And absolutely deserve to be.

Their intention appeared to be to hold the guy and or question him and perform a citizens arrest. I’m sure they didn’t go into the situation wanting to kill the guy.
Where on earth do you get this was their intent from the video? Do you start to question people starting by shooting at them with a gun? I get they claimed that was their intent, but I saw 0 actions taken that seemed intent on a peaceful resolution.

No, it isn't.
If he was just jogging or whether he was trespassing on a construction site and then ran down the road will be immaterial to the conclusion of this case (or at least it should be). Even if you assume the rednecks' account is accurate and view the evidence in a light most favorable to them, it's still murder.
That's the textbook definition of irrelevant.

Well, the video doesn't tell the entire story. While it looks really bad, it's not complete.

Oof.
They just wanted to chat.
Right.

Where's the evidence that he stopped to steal copper wire? The video at the construction site didn't show that, no charges were filed regarding that.

I'm sure you fully supported Planned Parenthood when they used this excuse in response to the Project Veritas videos.

Uh, if a stranger hopped out of the cab of a pickup and pointed a shotgun at me, I wouldn't think he wanted to have a chat.

So you’re one of those assuming they went in with the intention to murder this guy for stealing copper wire? Just want to make sure your position is clear.

I mean, in reality, they murdered the guy for less: jogging.

Does it have to be one or the other. They definitely wanted to intimidate him at the very least. Not just a chat. That’s retarded.

You're right. It doesn't.
The police report though does shed further light. The guys admitted they didn't see him commit a crime. At most, they saw a video and that he was looking in the window of a construction site (that didn't even have the locked "door" necessary to suggest a felony charge if the went in). The guys lied about how many shots there were and omitted the shot that occurred at the front of the truck. The guys also lied about how they pursued him. They made it seem like they were "chasing" him after something they didn't see him do. They did not tell the police they were parked, armed, and waiting for him to run up on them.
Combining that with the video does paint an even worse picture than the video itself.

that's why they left the shotguns at home, right?

Where did the copper wire stuff come from?

They clearly went in with the intention to forcibly harm and/or detain him.
I have no idea if they went in with the intent to kill him, but they were obviously more than willing.
