I mean, this point is irrelevant right? He doesn’t have to comply with any orders they give him whether he hears them or not.
Completely irrelevant. I 100% agree. Was merely thinking about how a jogger would respond to the unfolding situation... as opposed to a thief.... on foot... in the middle of the day. Has no bearing on the level of justification the aggressors should be attributed. Just trying to glean some insight.
Personally - I've experienced tunnel vision while running occasionally (towards the end of route, weather conditions harsher than anticipated, dehydrated).
I've also found myself, as an adult, in a couple 3 situations which could be considered life-threatening.*** I found myself hyper-aware of every little thing going on around me.
The actions of the victim upon his approaching the truck seemed more in line with the former than the latter. Also - if the victim was listening to earbuds... He was even more likely to be just a jogger.
*** - Helping a friend gather her things to leave an violently abusive relationship... and the guy arrives home early from work unexpectedly. Police were called and the guy was jailed.
- I was bartending an event where a large fight broke out and multiple weapons were drawn in close quarters right in front of me (knives and guns)... only one security guy in my vicinity.

The Daily Beast article has a lot more info on including a quote by a UGA prof who says it could become a major stand your ground ruling.
I’m pretty sure stand your grown deals with your own property in the case of “defending property”. The property didn’t belong to either of these asshats.
Also, they were arguing they were using a citizen’s arrest. You can’t just start shooting at someone during a citizen’s arrest for shits and giggles either. Especially when a shot was fired before a physical confrontation occurred.
It says far more to me that the first two DAs had to recuse themselves because of conflict of interest. And that one tried to persuade the other to not convict.

Fair enough, have your opinion, but just know this, your opinion right now is worth about the same as all of the people who were of the opinion that George Zimmerman was going to jail or that the Ferguson Police Officer was going to jail.
My opinion would have held the same worth regardless of where they stood on those situations.
What value do you think the opinions of poster’s on Tigerdroppings has on any of the above mentioned situations?

They shot with intent to kill. By definition it’s homicide. Self defense is a defense , but it can’t be claimed by the person who initiated the conflict. These guys had no lawful right to initiate a conflict with this guy.

You are suggesting because our current opinion won’t have a say in the matter ultimately, that we shouldn’t have an opinion at all? Just come off it man. You sound like an idiot.

Any relations to the two who need to be taken out back of the courthouse to save cost?
Why? Because I think a guy arrested for stealing a TV at Wal-Mart might not have the best intentions as he’s wandering around a vacant house in a neighborhood he doesn’t live in? Lol
AGAIN, the hillbillies should be in prison for murder.
But that doesn’t mean I believe this guy was Usain Bolt out on an afternoon run.

Here's what I do know, no one on this board knows enough to make an informed decision on whether there was criminal conduct on the part of the shooter.
It seems every time we have one of these types of shootings, all the "experts" come out of the woodwork to tell us whether it was or was not a justified homicide.
Let the system sort it out, 9 out of 10 times, it gets it right.
The irony of this is that if the shooters had left it to the experts and trusted in the system, Arbery would be alive.
He's dead because they appointed themselves experts instead of letting the cops do their job.

Dude, I watch A&E, The ID Channel, and the Oxygen channel. I’m well qualified on this subject. Ha

He was ran up on by someone with a gun, in what world would you be confident in that scenario and be able to simply tell someone off and keep running away?
Up to that point they had only been following him. They still had guns and hadn’t shot at him. It’s fricked up but the point that he would still be alive is correct. If two people have guns on me, trying to fist fight my way out is the last thing I would do and if I did it would have ended the same exact way. It’s tragic and these guys will get what they have coming but what I said is still correct.

This is Trayvon Martin all over again.

So they would have shot him for telling them to go pound sand?

My guess is that he went into the vacant house to take a leak.

Video looks like an ambush to me. Hope those guys enjoy the rest of their lives in the tank. Guess they sure showed him.

If you follow someone in a vehicle, jump out on them, and put a gun on him, and he keeps jogging, I think you are most likely gonna continue to escalate the situation

This case has been around for a little while now. It didn't' just happen.
At the local level, it absolutely appears they were trying to make it disappear, in large part due to the fathers connections.
It's only starting to get some traction because the family has been pushing for an outside group to come in and investigate, plus with the video being released it's finally getting national attention.
Which gives the BLM crew more ammo for saying institutional racism

They are using the citizen's arrest law to justify the shooting.
To invoke that, they would had to have witnessed him breaking the law. They did not. They goin’ underneath the jail.
