I wear a mask at the grocery store. I could have it and be asymptomatic and don't like the idea of some elderly person getting sick because I feel like looking tough or libertarian.

Thats fine. I just dont think the viral load is enough to do anything to me. Im not really around old people and even if I was in the store with one, Im not going to run up to them and cough on them.

But how long you going to wear one? Until there is a vaccine sold by Fauci? Rest of your life? viruses are going nowhere.

That's tough to say. There's no way of knowing for sure, but I think at this stage, I'd rather err on the side of caution. I have no answer for you beyond that.

I was at the grocery today and I'd say 90% of people were wearing masks- most I've seen so far. Do all you "no mask" people just stay home?

Funny, I was at a grocery store yesterday as well, and I'd say half of the people weren't wearing masks. 90% of the people couldn't read simple signs directing you up and down aisles in a certain direction (which I find idiotic anyway, but whatever), much less wearing masks.

4 weeks ago we were told we didn't need masks because they wouldn't do anything and they were needed by the healthcare workers. Now all of a sudden they save lives. Half of the people wearing masks aren't even wearing them right. This one woman had her mask below her chin yesterday while talking on the phone in front of the spice rack.

PPE (PERSONAL Protective Equipment, yet we are told masks are for the protection of others and not ourselves) doesn't do a damn thing if you don't wear it right. I've watched people sit in their vehicles, touch their faces, put the mask on, get out and go into the store. If they don't wash their hands before touching anything, what is the mask doing that isn't possibly undone by them touching objects in the store that the virus could then be passed to other people on?

I haven't worn a mask yet and I haven't missed a day of work since this started. But the company we service is making it mandatory next week. So I guess I will have to start then. Seems dumb at this point. But nothing I can do about it. Not the best time to get fired..

I don’t even understand why the over whelming attitude on here is to act like a renegade towards masks. It’s like everyone is trying to out douche each other with this mask thing and think they are hot shite for not wearing them.

The best part of it all is that the “no mask screamers” will wear a mask when told to do so by a business they need services from.

When bars open and say you have to “wear a mask to enter” these mouth breathers will have one ready to go in their pockets.

I'm not a hyperventilating pants wetting Karen like OMLandshark. The mortality rate for my state is 0.005% so wearing a mask is nothing but a feel good appeal to emotional bed wetters such as yourself. Like I said before, you can wear one if you wish.

I don’t agree with wearing masks, but it’s mandatory in Illinois/Chicago. Is what it is. I’m more-concerned about the Governor’s unsustainable reopen plans.

I just walk around sans mask internally chuckling at the gullible sheep. The day that a business demands a mask is the day that I don’t frequent that establishment anymore.

Are you going to be removing the mask to drink? Or drinking through the mask or what?

Bars and restaurants requiring a mask would be peak stupidity.

I went to two grocery stores yesterday. First one, only about 50% of the shoppers had a mask, but there were only about 20 shoppers in there. Second one I went to almost everyone was wearing one. The latter one is my regular store and most people have been wearing masks there every time I’ve been.

Ssssshhhh! It is harder for you to identify shoplifters if you are wearing a mask.

This may come as a surprise, but I went through a McDonald’s drive thru in Houma. Employees serving had no gloves handing your bag and masks were pulled down not covering their face. Compare that to Chick-fil-A who had on masks and gloves and handed your food in a plastic container for you to grab.

I will go on record saying I hate masks, and I have doubts on how effective they are. I also cannot breathe as easy with one on. They may help if you are sick.

Will a bandana work just as well?

Sure. It's not about actually preventing anything, it's about looking like you're preventing something so that Karen feels safe.

Made my first trip to Walmart in a couple weeks yesterday. Less than 50% of customers and less than 25% of workers wearing masks.
