It’s not an airborne virus. The masks are dumb as shite.
But I keep one in the car for the dumb stores who require it.
Saw a guy at the gas pump today with a mask and no gloves. People are trying their best, they just don’t get it.
Also the virus dies in heat and/or sunlight.

And what if you’re asymptomatic? You’re an a-hole.

Can someone point me to why this is such a big deal?
I’m pretty sure it’s the same reason people get excessively large and loud trucks or ride Harleys.

If people are honest about it, the mask wearers will wear masks every year during flu season. The elderly are very vulnerable to dying from the flu even with an available vaccine.

This is not the same, influenza is not a novel virus. We know 1000x more about that virus than we do covid-19. Please just stop making false equivalencies.

If the store asks me to wear a mask, I wear the mask. It's a private business and their rules go. I have the mask in my pocket and when I get to the store I take it out and put it on. As soon as I leave the store I take my mask back off and put it back into my pocket.

I was at the grocery today and I'd say 90% of people were wearing masks- most I've seen so far. Do all you "no mask" people just stay home?
I am really glad those 90% are wearing masks for my safety.

Novel or not, the flu is very deadly to vulnerable populations. Tens of thousands in the U.S. die in some years. It can also be spread through coughing and sneezing. How can it hurt if people are asked to wear masks when out and about during flu season if it helps stop the spread?

Pretty sure the cdc said that the mask do not work, and are for those who already have it so that they don’t spread it.

The fact of the matter is I think 2/3 of the people here are trolling and are thinking through the ramifications when it comes to relatives and friends at risk. But there is a 1/3 that are serious about this. The country should be reopened, people with no major preexisting conditions or living with someone with the same should get back to work, and we should wear masks, socially distance, and wash our hands pretty consistently.
But some of the idiots will make the second wave much worse if they just act like they did in February. Yeah maybe they won’t get it or if they do they are asymptomatic, but if you’re out in a grocery store, cough on something, and later someone touches where you spread your germs and rubs their eyes, that could kill someone if they are susceptible to this. We’re mostly in our 20s and 30s here, so the vast, vast majority of us are going to be fine, but I’m not sure about our parents or grandparents. That’s up to how we move forward. We can have the best of both worlds if we are smart, but to quote George Carlin:

This is idiocy. No, it’s like a test comes back positive that she has HIV, you dodged it the dozen or so times you rawdogged it, and then continue to frick her with a condom. I would have used herpes but that’s skin to skin. The others can be cured in this day and age.
Yeah that word pic might be the single dumbest thing I've ever seen posted on here and that says a lot. Also says a lot that over 50 people liked it.
Just how stupid do you have to be to compare those two things?

That part is true. Half life of the virus at 72 degrees AND in sunlight (that second part is important) is around 2 minutes. Gives me some hope if we’re responsible, we can go back to some normalcy by July, but again it depends on people not being a bunch of stupid assholes. Social distancing is certainly going to be in effect through a vaccine or herd immunity.

Yeah I wasn't saying that he was wrong...I just hadn't seen that yet. That's a good sign.

I've only worn a mask once, and that was because it was required at Costco when I went yesterday. My wife went a few days ago and was told it would be mandatory to enter the store starting on May 4th to have a mask on.
I put it on as I was entering the store and removed it as soon as I hit the exit door.

That’s the safest place you can be in this. It’s stupid to wear a mask outside while socially distancing when it’s hot and sunny. Chances of you getting it jogging outside are basically 0.
