they eventually stop after 4-5 seconds, but clearly something not right.

It just happens when we light this one particular burner. Anyone have a clue what is causing this?

Swab the igniter that keeps doing it with alcohol using a q-tip and let it dry. likely just needs to be cleaned or is wet.

Happens on mine, but only when I have the temperature setting to "low." Is this happening only on "low" or at any temperature?

Sounds like your Flux Capacitor needs to be replaced.

Sounds different than mine. I light mine on "high" and then adjust temperature to "low." Low is my only issue.

Napoleon may be here soon to help.

Your stove's crystal needs replacing. Lucky for you, Harbor Freight has a sale on stove crystals this week.

It has been happening to mine off and on for years. I suspect that it's because the igniter is moist or the removable caps of the burner are not set in the grooves correctly. It happens most after the maid cleans the stove.

I've had it happen because of the above. Also, my butter melting burner does it on low if the kitchen ceiling fan is on.

Clean the spark igniters.
Replace the spark igniter module.
Unplug the SOB.

This. It is not properly sensing that the burner is already lit.

Most high end stoves have a simmer burner which will turn itself off and on to keep a more consistent low temp.

Your stove is just dirty and greasy. You have to clean it every now and then.
