I agree with OP. Got flood insurance that takes effect next week and not required. Mother Nature can dump rain and flood anywhere along the coast.

Fin I know you lived in Cinco a while, so here is a reference for you on this flood- they are predicting that the water in George Bush park will flood all the way over to near 99 in Cinco. That is incredible.

Nobody thought what happened last August could happen. Haven't heard anyone suggest that just because they didn't flood last summer means they will never flood. So yeah, I don't think your comment makes any sense, and that's not even taking into account the pathetic grammar. I mean, really?

If you think what is happening in Houston is going to make people run out and buy flood insurance, you don't understand people.

I won't flood...ever. And if I do, I'm going to get FEMA to buy me a new house and you're paying for it.

I think what you meant to say is, when it comes to flooding, just because it hasn't happened to you does not mean it can't or won't.

To the extent I still hadn't learned that after Katrina and Gustav, the crazy flooding in St Tammany Parish a year or so ago definitely sealed it.

I have to admit, I feel pretty safe from flooding. But then, I am familiar with my local geography and you are not. I don't expect you to realize that there actually parts of Louisiana that are not on a flood plain and not close to any waterway that might threaten them.

50 miles from the gulf checking in. I'm good. Don't even have flood insurance.

And how many miles is Baton rouge from the gulf?
