$30K for a family of five lol?!?!?!

You could easily go to Europe for half that.

Or go to actual Disney (pick your location). This is why I will never do a Disney cruise. I love Disney. I'm one of those weirdos. But if I am going to spend that much money then I want to go to Disney World and have the full experience. Not just see some characters walking around at dinner. I have cruised Carnival and Celebrity and I know the nicer cruises are truly a step up but I can still have fun on Carnival or go on Celebrity for much much less.

Just out of curiosity, what’s so great about a Disney cruise?

No shite huh? The very fist sentence of the article:

The first four-day Disney cruise sold out in just an hour, and more cruise lines are about to launch bigger ships and longer cruises from the Port of New Orleans.

I have been on every disney ship. The service is top notch. When my son was a toddler the wait staff allowed us to eat out meal uninterrupted. They cut his food for him and played with him. You rotate restaurants each night and your wait staff travels with you because they get to know what you like.

The kids clubs are fricking awesome. Some of my favorite moments are open house when I get to play with my kid in the clubs. They have big pirate ship battles on on ship. They have a star wars section where you fly the Millennium Falcon.

The shows they have are actual Broadway quality as well. If you go see Alladin on Broadway pretty much the same show is on the Fantasy.

Also the people on Disney Cruises are totally different than what you find on Carnival.

I haven’t priced Disney cruises in a while, but where are you all getting this $6,000 a person figure from? That’s not anywhere close to being correct

From the poster I replied to, I don’t know anything about Disney

Disney is generally about 1400 per person. 6k I have never seen outside of concerige level.

Taking a southern carib cruise in Jan with them and it ran 4k for 3.

A disney cruise over the summer will approach 8-10k for a family. Depending on cruise.

I’m taking the Breakaway for Thanksgiving. Never been on a cruise other than some BS three night Carnival trip when I graduated high school.

Kids have been begging for five years to go on one. Thanksgiving is pretty expensive so I hope that limits the trash.

It's not 6k per person. We went for about 6k total for a family of 5 and that was for an upgraded room

Being stuck on a boat with a bunch of Disney freaks eating turkey legs while wearing Mouse ears? No thanks! Give me the Walmart shoppers who like to smuggle Hooch on board. Now that's a trip

Locally. Not Local. Damn I miss proper use of adverbs.

Disney used to let you bring as much alcohol on board as you want. Now you are limited to a couple of 6 packs but you get to reload at port.

Drink prices are the cheapest I have seen though at about 6.50 a drink. NCL is around 13 dollars. They already got your money so they don't nickle and dime you like other cruise lines.

Most cruise lines have insane drink prices to try and force you to buy the drink package. It is a great deal if you drink a lot but they are hoping a lot of people will just get it and then end up only drinking a little here and there.
