You could easily go to Europe for half that.
I know this isn't your point but I always laugh at the posters in these threads who bring up Europe as an alternative to Disney/Disney cruises for kids
the average kid from elementary to high school would not really appreciate a European trip. Hell, I know I didn't when I was in high school. I went back after graduating college and got 100x more out of it than when i was 15.

Yes it's nice if you use it as your free option but you still pay now over 200 for 2 people for the tax and grats on it. If drink prices were 6.50 instead of 13 it would take 5 drinks a day for a week before you break even. (If you got it for free) They just went up on the price too. NCL made it cost prohibitive to not have the package.

Went on a Disney cruise some years ago. Soft drink stations, water, are free; at least at the soft drink stations up top near the pool and water slides.

As much shite as Disney World trips get on here, the Disney cruises are pretty legit IMO
Would recommend
While I’ll probably have to bring the kids on a disney cruise one day, I dont know why anyone woukd pay that much for a cruise. I realize that some Carnival cruises can have some people Id rather not be around, but many years ago, while on a carnival cruise, we were actually sailing right beside a Disney cruise and what baffles me was that the Disney ship pretty much shut down at 10pm on the night that both ships were having their deck parties. We also found out that the excursions were more expensive for people on the Disney cruise for the exact same excursions we were on.
I think Id rather just go to Disney World to be honest.

My son has been to WDW a few times, Disneyland as well as many other places. Wife and I have been to Europe but without him as I don't think he would appreciate it.
When given the option he chooses the Disney cruise 10 times out of 10.
If you took the best kids camp from another cruise line. It would be a 1 and Disney would be a 10 in comparison.
People go to disney parks to feel like a kid again and experience what used to be disney magic. I never see that at the parks but I see it on the cruise line.
It's the one vacation that parents can relax on and do their own thing while the kids have a ball and then you have a lot of family time as well. They have adult night clubs but if you wanted to go dance and play with your kids there is a family night club and game area as well. Been on Carnival, NCL and Royal Caribbean many times. None compete at the same level. None come remotely close when considering a family vacation.

For the rest of us, it's not Disney vs carnival. We just don't see the appeal of these overly-touristy vacations like Disney, Sandals, cruises, etc.

I take 3 to 4 vacations a year. 1 for family for for peace of mind (typically a fishing, skiing or outdoor trip) and one with the wife.
I like Disney Cruises mainly because it feels more personable than disney world and puts a smile on my kids face.

6k would be worth it from what I've heard from family and friends. I don't have any kids, though, and that's probably one of the main reasons to go

Going on the 4 day cause I'm too poor. These cruises are solid especially if you have kids.
