This is wild. Place has to be the most small town feeling 1 million metro I’ve ever seen. That’s not even a put down. Place just feels a lot more small town than like half the places listed there. It’s a lovely little city, though.

Melt. The northern suburbs(especially northern Cherokee and Northern Forsyth Counties) and far western burbs(Carrollton) are absolutely beautiful.

Sorry. Atlanta is widely known as one of America’s worst shite holes. You couldn’t pay me to live there. All the same problems as New Orleans but on a bigger and wider scale.

That shite is going to end up sprawling east over towards us in Jackson and DeKalb counties. Our hidden gem of an area isn’t going to be hidden much longer.

Northshore is split from NOLA because it doesn't meet the commuting threshold anymore (a certain percentage of workers have to commute to a parish/county to be considered part of that metro). You can blame the Democratic leadership of the city for pushing out business with crime and anti business policies and forcing business to relocate.

Iberia was part of the Lafayette metro for a decade after barely breaking the threshold but are now out of it for barely falling under it.

I don't even know what genre skynyrd played now, since Jacksonville isn't the south either.

That's the literal definition of what a "metro area" is.

This ^^ but these figures are based off of the 2020 census during Covid, so I’d assume they’ll be back in the metro next census

Normally Spartanburg is thrown into Greenville and Anderson in these numbers and it is counted as one metro, which would bump it to #2 in the south
Yeah, that’s weird. Especially because Greer is in Spartanburg.

Fair enough. I thought it was more subjective than that and I’m still not sure I agree that it’s a good metric for population statistics.

Lafayette metro is kinda BS in my opinion. They include all the way to near Morgan City, Abbeville.. places that are 45 minutes from Lafayette. They don't do that for Nola or other cities in LA

It's not. For some reason they include all the way down to Morgan City, Abbeville, far west of Laffy, etc. Actual Lafayette isn't big, but they include those independent operating towns as part of Lafayette metro when they aren't realistically part of Lafayette metro.
