All can be restored if the aliens are presented with a fully functioning iPhone 16.
How long would it take humanity?
My answer is 500-1000 years or never. Never because if would become a myth or religion at some point

Why would we present them with an iPhone?
Are you asking how long it would take us to restore things back to relative normal?
A lot shorter than 500-1000 years if we keep our current knowledge.

Well we went from no computers in the 1950s to 70 years later everyone has one in there hand and it calls people and take pictures.
So 70 years
So 70 years

This is fricking dumb.
It is also filled with racist overtones, since Africa would be the only continent to survive. OP hates whites and asians.

Are you asking how long it would take humanity to build an iPhone from scratch with our current knowledge?
If so
Short-term (0–5 years): Basic infrastructure and simple manufacturing might be restored.
Mid-term (5–15 years): Advanced manufacturing capabilities, including microchip production, could begin to take shape.
Long-term (15–30+ years): Production of complex, integrated devices like an iPhone 16 could become feasible.
It might take 20 to 30 years to fully rebuild the technological ecosystem necessary to manufacture a device like an iPhone 16

If we only needed to build the tools necessary to present one phone and not do it at scale I would bet something under ten years. You would need access to lots of people, but as long as you knew where all the raw goods were and retained the prior manufacturing knowledge I don’t see any major problems.
A small group of knowledgeable people could probably get a pre-microchip society fully up and running in under three years given available resources. It’s only the digital-era tech/manufacturing that would take real time and precision.
Most of us laugh at the concept, but Warhammer 40k is a lot closer to the truth of how people would treat old, lost tech closer to magic/miracles than science if it became too complex and basic understanding was lost to the general public.

You saying it would take 500-1000 years to make an IPhone 16?
I don't know what you're saying, but if so that's dumb.

The premise is we would all be naked and living in caves. We would have No man made objects. Start from zero.
That’s how I read it.

I think you’re giving humanity way too much credit.
There would be complete chaos and anarchy 48 hours after the aliens leave because there’d be no food in the grocery store, no McDonald’s, no fridge/freezer to store food, no stove or microwave to prepare food.
Half of humanity would starve to death in the first few months.
People would break off into small clans and kill each other over resources.
If the aliens were gracious enough to leave books, we may have a chance. If all the books go too, there’s some knowledge that will just be lost because the few people that understood it will have died.
We will never remake the world as it is today. If we don’t go extinct, we’ll eventually become technologically advanced, but it’ll take a different path.

The Amish would be living in houses within 24 hrs.

You would be completely naked with no way to travel and contact other people except for by foot.
It would take 20 years just to rebuild basic infrastructure, basic tools, furnaces capital of melting aluminum and silicon

The fallacy here is that, starting before the industrial revolution, people didn’t know they were capable of precise component manufacturing at large scales, and didn’t know things like iPhones would be possible as a result of that.
Modern civilization knows all of that, and people know what steps to take, in what order, to get there.
The aliens wouldn’t take the knowledge of history, the knowledge about manufacturing, or the knowledge about technology.

Seems I’ve heard this story before.
Well,… how long has it been since the Anunnaki left and the flood?

Hundreds of years realistically.
What no one here is thinking of is that he said “every man made object. That means all our infrastructure, technology, books, equipment, food and resource producing items will be gone. The initial thing everyone will have to do, and which will lead to the deaths of most of all human being, would be reestablishing, agriculture, shelter, and some form of society before everyone Dies of starvation..
Now that I think about it, assuming maybe very small chance that It’s possible, it may take even thousand years to reestablish society if “every human made object was taken away”

I understand this, but where is most of this knowledge stored? Because all of that would be erased and you would have to depend on the individual humans that actually have this knowledge

Almost all of which are scattered throughout the world without any communication, and who will most likely be all dead within a week from starvation and dehydration, without some rapidly established Source of food water.
After that, Even a PG in computer science, material fabrication, and programming, Etc. will be absolutely useless for the remainder of these people‘s lifespans

God willing,
We as a society decide to NOT recreate some of the tech that has become so pernicious and destructive to society.

Yeah, everyone is underestimating the effect of losing “all man made objects.” That definitely means books, if taken at face value. So, “maintaining current knowledge” is impossible.
There would be piles of food rotting for the first few weeks, then famine would set it. No telling how many people survive the first year, but probably a good bit less than 1 billion. It’s basically a complete reset of humanity.
500 yrs seems overly optimistic to me, honestly.
