I've lost nearly all my relatives to cancer, you need to lighten the frick up.

The joke would kill in a cancer ward. Laughter is all most of them have left.

I wonder if they will continue Jeopardy if Alex leaves? Seems to be a unique host for the show?

They'll get someone else. Jeopardy had other hosts before Trebek.

Art Fleming was the first one.

Damn I hate this.

One of my favorite posters here is a lady who goes by lovelsu. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a couple years ago and has been fighting her arse off and really living. Haven't seen her post in a couple months. I hope she is doing well.

Thank you. I was just going to ask that.

Trebek was the best though. Really hope he can beat it.

My best friend died of panc cancer. Nothing funny about it. I have a fantastic sense of humor so there’s no need for me to lighten up. There’s nothing funny about this.

What is one of the worst diagnosis you can get?

Pretty much that.

Without knowing anything about the situation other than the thread title, it’s almost a given that he is dead within 9 months.

It’s bad enough that the ROI for treatment is so low that they start the discussions with quality of life out the gate.

At least he outlived Turd Ferguson.

Final episode should have Will Ferrell as host Alex Trebek. Real Alex Trebek competes with Darrelll Hammond as Sean Connery and Norm Macdonald as Turd Ferguson.

Horrible. I've watched this show since the days of Art Fleming. Good luck, Alex, kick cancer's arse.

I've lost my mom, my grandmother, my grandfather, and a sister.

Sitting in chemo, I learned what humor really is.

Humor is the ability to look death in the face with a smirk. Humor is knowing cancer won and lighting up your first cigar with your oncologist...because it isn't gonna give you more cancer. It's an 80 year old man asking the hot nurse out for a drink... Because the seed implants and pump have made things quite... Grand

Trebek might not be there yet, he might not have time to, but gallows humor is a thing for a reason.

I don’t want to derail the thread, but do you really think God gives a shite about death?

Think about it.

I had a supervisor that died from pancreatic cancer about a year ago. Left behind 4 kids including a 6 year old. There’s basically no cure from it. Frick cancer!!!!

A couple weeks ago I had a cancer cut off of my head. When I was through, I went across the parking lot and sat next to my wife who was getting her second chemo treatment. There were still two more to go in this round.

Some of those people in there handle things with a sense of humor. The ones getting their first chemo are either stoic or crying. The nurses are extremely kind and efficient. I never wanted to know any of that stuff.

I'm with you Rando. I will make a joke when I damned well please.

My BIL’s mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last May and died mid-August. Went to chemo once, hated being sick and decided to live what little time she had left to the fullest.

That shite is bad. F cancer.
